he served as editor of campus newspaper.
Early career as ad copywriter, New York City.
Contributing editor at Vanity Fair; long-time columnist for New York Observer, former editorial writer, the New York Times.
Freelance articles have appeared in Playboy, SPY, The New Yorker, etc.
One day in the 1980s, he wrote the line "Real men don't eat quiche" as
dialog for a script. He went on to write a best selling comedy book
using that line as a title.
