A native of North Carolina Virginia began her career as a dancer when she and her sister Frances formed the Paxton Sisters. She
was discovered by Darryl F Zanuck performing on Broadway and moved to Hollywood signing a contract with 20th Century Fox.
After a few films she moved to MGM where she made Idiots Delight with Clark Gable and The Kid From Texas in which she played
Annie Oakley, She then briefly worked for Columbia co starring in Start Cheering with Jimmy Durante. Her career reached its
peak at Paramount where she stayed 5 years appearing in Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby, Kiss The Boys Goodbye, Las Vegas
Nights and All the Women Have Secrets. She then moved to television in the early 60's appearing in such as Annie Oakley. Wyatt
Earp, Day in Court, North and South and His Mistress in 1984 which was her last appearance, She died October 3 1994 of complications from emphysema and was survived by her husband and son
