Hilarie Burton Morgan is sharing a tease on the One Tree Hill sequel series in the works at Netflix.

Deadline reported last month that Burton Morgan and Sophia Bush are set to executive produce the series and reprise their Peyton Sawyer and Brook Davis roles, respectively. In telling the next chapter of this story, Burton Morgan said she wanted to work with a team led by females.

“What I can say is that this go-around, being able to work with a team of women and look at these stories [and] these characters through a female lens is something that — whether I was doing a reboot or a brand new show or a different movie at this phase in my life, female teamwork is something that is so vital to me,” Burton Morgan told People of the upcoming series.

The 15th iteration of the Hallmark Channel’s festive slate kicks off on October 18 on the Hallmark Channel with all-new movies every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. on the Hallmark channel and Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Hallmark Mystery, with a Wednesday 8 p.m. launch Thanksgiving week. Hallmark Channel is ready for the holidays.

The network is celebrating 15 years of their “Countdown to Christmas” franchise with 31 new movies, including the highly anticipated Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story with Hunter King and Tyler Hynes, while Hallmark Mystery will feature nine new movies as part of “Miracles of Christmas,” and Hallmark has an additional seven titles.

The festivities officially launch on October 18. All films premiere at 8 p.m. Et on the channel, unless otherwise noted.

Seven new movies will be part of two franchises: Christmas on Cherry Lane will see three new movies, while Unwrapping Christmas is a new, four-movie franchise following the holiday romances of four friends working at a store named All Wrapped Up.

It was revealed on Friday (August 30) that Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are developing a sequel series for Netflix, where they are set to reprise their roles and executive produce.

The new series is said to pick up 20 years later and centers on Brooke and Peyton. It is expected to see them dealing with “love, insecurities and grief” while raising their now-teenaged children.

Danneel Ackles is also set to executive produce, alongside husband Jensen Ackles, and she is also in talks to return.

As Deadline revealed today, a One Tree Hill sequel series is in development at Netflix with Bush and Burton reprising the roles of Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, in addition to serving as executive producers.

The pair celebrated the return to their TV roots, posting a recent cast reunion photo with Danneel Ackles and Bevin Prince.

“What if you really can go back home? If there’s an opportunity to team with brilliant creatives and build a space where all our friends can show off their talents? Own our history? Reclaim our turf? Honor our fans? Sign us up,” the pair wrote in a joint statement posted individually to their respective Instagram accounts.

“There’s only one Tree Hill, after all,” they continued. “And you — the #OTHfam — have shown us that it’s not just an idea.

And back to Tree Hill we go! Over a decade after the popular teen drama series came to an end after nine seasons back in 2012, Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan are reportedly set to star in and executive produce a One Tree Hill sequel series that's currently in development at Netflix.

According to Deadline, the potential series would be additionally executive produced by writer Becky Hartman Edwards, who previously worked with Netflix on Firefly Lane, and Warner Bros. The streamer is in early development on a sequel series to the former CW mainstay One Tree Hill. Hilarie Burton Morgan and Sophia Bush are set to reprise their roles from that series and will also serve as executive producers alongside their former co-star Danneel Ackles.

Warner Bros. Television, which produced One Tree Hill, is also behind the potential sequel. Becky Hartman Edwards (Firefly Lane) is writing the follow-up.

Sources say that original series stars Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Daneel Ackles are executive producing the reboot. Ackles will executive produce under her Chaos Machine banner along with her husband, Jensen Ackles. Becky Hartman-Edwards is attached to write and executive produce. Warner Bros. Television, which produced the original series, would also produce the followup.

Bush and Burton would reprise their roles from the show with Ackles also in talks to return. No word yet on if other original series stars would also return at this time.

In June, Hallmark announced Holiday Touchdown, a Christmas rom-com starring Hunter King as a Chiefs superfan and Tyler Hynes as the team’s director of fan engagement. Production on the movie began in July in Kansas City (where Hallmark’s corporate headquarters is located), with some scenes set to be filmed at the iconic Arrowhead Stadium.

Now, Hallmark is revealing that the movie will feature someone with a very personal connection to the Chiefs.

Hilarie Burton is stepping back from the weekly hosting duties of the One Tree Hill rewatch podcast Drama Queens.

Hallmark’s Spring Into Love programming event continues this month with a fresh slate of rom-coms. The network’s April lineup includes movies with Hallmark stars such as Sarah Drew, Erin Krakow, and Natasha Burnett. Plus, When Calls the Heart returns for its 11th season on April 7. This spring, Hallmark Channel offers a lineup of feel-good, romantic movies to start the season off right. The event kicks off on Saturday, at 8 pm Et/Pt with the first new, original movie, Switching Gears.

From there on, new movies premiere every Saturday until April 27, when the movie Branching Out airs on the network. Read on to find out which six movies are lined up for the Spring Into Love programming event, and where you can watch them.

Exclusive: Dexter Darden (Chang Can Dunk), Chloe Bridges (Maggie) and Robert Buckley (One Tree Hill) have joined the cast of Amber Ruffin and Kenny Smith NBC comedy pilot, Non-Evil Twin.

Darden plays Marcus, a contemporary nerd and tech developer for exercise equipment. He’s a good guy, but no fan of confrontation, which makes it hard for him to do the right thing at times. Bridges plays Robin, the CEO of Dandee Sports Apparel and Angie’s (Ruffin) corporate nemesis. She’s a self-described woman of faith who’s a shark in the boardroom. Buckley plays Samson, Angie’s not-so-bright lawyer who, in addition to providing legal counsel, provides Angie with anything she needs…be it copious amounts of rosé or sex.

The multi-camera pilot stars Ruffin playing the dual roles of twin sisters Angie and Amber. Angie is the ruthless CEO of AngieCorp, who is as heartless as she is rich.

Chesapeake Shores will come to a close for good later this year.

Hallmark on Friday morning announced that the sixth and final season will get underway Sunday, August 14.

The final season was announced by Hallmark earlier this year.

“With a top-notch ensemble cast and creative team, Chesapeake Shores has shared stories that are relatable, poignant, and unforgettable,” said Laurie Ferneau, SVP Programming, Series.

“We look forward to honoring the journey viewers have been on with the O’Briens with one final, special season.”

Series stars Robert Buckley, Meghan Ory, Golden Globe® nominee Treat Williams, Barbara Niven, Laci J. Mailey, Emilie Ullerup, Brendan Penny, and Andrew Francis are all set to return.

Chesapeake Shores is based on the New York Times bestselling series of books by Sherryl Woods.

The series said goodbye to its leading man in Jesse Metcalfe last season, but it introduced the dashing Robert Buckley in his place.

Hallmark Channel will return to Chesapeake Shores this summer.

The network has announced that the sixth and final season of the O’Brien family saga will premiere Sunday, Aug. 14. (As previously reported, the series’ farewell run will consist of 10 episodes.)

The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 48 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 12; last year, only 41 TV movies were submitted.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 27 to cast their 2022 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. In 2017, that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.
