Douglas Booth - Bio
Born in the shadow of the Hollywood Sign (well, just down the block), into a pioneering Anglo-American television family, Douglas Booth, years later, graduated Magna cum Laude from Harvard University with a degree in American History and Literature. Wondering how he could create some "historic literature" himself, as well as occasionally paying the rent, he quite naturally turned to giant robots, garden fairies and elves, talking dogs, swashbuckling corsairs, time-traveling teenagers, and superheroes in tights as his preferred co-conspirators in this on-going endeavor!
Starting as an apprentice writer at Hanna-Barbera, he has since worked for major studios in America, Europe, and Asia, writing and story-editing hundreds of produced cartoon episodes, from pre-school to pre-teen and beyond - showing on countless tv's in the U.S. and countries around the world (and the occasional feature, as well). And, since the producing studios have typically retained "all intergalactic broadcasting rights in perpetuity", who knows on what nearby planet they're streaming tonight?
These days, Doug and his wife of many years commute between their townhouse in a historic district of Harlem, NYC, and their hillside home in Topanga Canyon, L.A., while attempting to keep track of their grown-up daughters... all the while scheming and plotting new scripted adventures for the above-mentioned fantasy characters, and a wide variety of new ones, as well!
PS As perhaps the only member of Britain's Standing Council of the Baronetage ever to pen the immortal words, "Scooby-Dooby-Dooooo!" - and get paid for it - Sir Doug does his best to bring a touch of class to every script he writes!
