Malcolm Blanchard was an early pioneer in computer graphics. In the early 1980s he was a member of the Computer Division of Lucasfilm where he implemented the first time-line interface for a film-editing system (EditDroid). He was among the group who left Lucasfilm to found Pixar. He spent the rest of his career working on animation software for that studio.
