- Also a successful businessman who was involved in many charitable activities. He's been President of the California Epilepsy Society and made tapes for the Braille Institute's reading for the blind program until his death.
- Best remembered as Captain Arturo Toledano in Zorro (1957).
- He and brother Morgan Adams were also real estate developers. Their holdings included the Adams Plaza on Wilshire Boulevard. The firm also contributed a sculpture garden at the YMCA in downtown Los Angeles.
- Played Claudette Colbert's husband in 'The Marriage Go Round' at the Drury Lane Theatre in London in 1978. Colbert later called Adams her favorite stage husband.
- He and his wife Mary had one son (Peter), two daughters (Aileen and Mary) and four grandchildren.
- He is buried in Glendale, California's Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
