Whoopi Goldberg and Ted Danson are perhaps two of the most controversial figures in Hollywood, who are also outspoken about their opinions, and quite open about their daring lives. The former is considered to be extremely bold and has often pushed the boundaries and triggered viewers in several instances.

Bill Hader is a nice guy. He's one of the most beloved Saturday Night Live cast members of the 21st century, and is one of the most consistent sources when it comes to side-splitting behind the scenes stories. He shared another one during a recent appearance on the podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name.
Hader reflected on his time with SNL during his lengthy conversation with hosts Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson. One of the incident that stood out to him the most involved a 2008 episode that was hosted by an Oscar nominated actor. He recalls a sketch that was concocted by him and fellow cast member Will Forte that failed to generate any laughter from the audience during rehearsals.
Hader knew his SNL sketch was going to bomb

Netflix has submitted a total of 32 TV programs for awards consideration at the upcoming Golden Globes, and 20 for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Gold Derby has learned exclusively.
Some of the streamer’s notable TV titles include Season 2 of “Squid Game,” the survival thriller starring Emmy and SAG winner Lee Jung-jae; popular new comedy “Nobody Wants This,” about an agnostic woman (Kristen Bell) and an unconventional rabbi (Adam Brody); and “Baby Reindeer,” the buzzy limited series that recently set the Emmys on fire, going home with six trophies. See the full list of submissions below, broken down by show.
Note that the Golden Globes have lead actor and lead actress categories that are separated by TV genres (drama/comedy/limited), but that the supporting actor and supporting actress races encapsulate all genres. As of last year, the organization also now offers an award for the best stand-up comedy special on television.

Ted Danson was, well, anxious to talk to Bill Hader on this week’s Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast because the two comic actors have something in common. “I listened to a podcast where you were talking about anxiety attacks,” said Danson. “And I went, Ah! A kindred spirit!”
Hader has talked about his mental health issues in several forums, but not without reservation. “There will be moments where I’m like, ‘Oh man, am I going to be known as the anxiety guy?’”
So why is he so willing to share? “I just remember Saturday Night Live, feeling that way,” he said. Hader would Google information about anxiety while he was on the show, but he “could never find a thing that I related to. It was either not enough, or it was really intense.”
So despite his mixed feelings, Hader talks about his issues to help others going through similar trials.

After that “forking” twist in the first season finale, we all thought the same thing: The Good Place is here to stay for a long time. But no, the series came to a fitting conclusion just after four seasons and 53 episodes. So what happened? Fans should’ve taken the hint from creator Michael Schur when he said that the series is not your typical “200-episode, Friends kind of a deal.”

But fans should be proud of what the series did. At a time when most popular TV series struggle to conclude gracefully and lose direction by dragging on, The Good Place made the “ethically” right choice. During its stay, the series earned fourteen Emmy nominations, including two for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Before sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory and F.R.I.E.N.D.S ruled the airwaves, there was Cheers. The Ted Danson starrer centered around a former relief pitcher and bartender Sam Malone and the relationship he shares with the patrons and employees of his bar. The show was one of the highest-rated shows and its finale had record viewership at the time.
Danson earned big for his lead role in the series. The veteran star is now a lead in various series such as The Good Place, Becker, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Mr. Mayor. However, he hit his peak when he was starring in the sitcom and reportedly earns millions even now in residuals.

Following his time on The Good Place, Ted Danson is giving it up for the show’s architects.
The 3x Golden Globe winner recently explained the lengths the NBC comedy’s writers’ room went to in order to more accurately depict its characters’ ethical dilemmas as they navigated the afterlife.
“On speed dial, we had three or four ethics professors who would talk to the writers daily to make sure what we were talking about was right,” said Danson on his Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast, as co-host Woody Harrelson added, “Sometimes it’s good to get a second, third opinion.”
The Michael Schur-created comedy, which ran for four seasons from 2016 to 2020, starred Kristen Bell as Eleanor Shellstrop, an ethically questionable soul who mistakenly ends up in the titular ‘Good Place’ after her unexpected death.

The Good Place did such a good job of exploring morality that some universities use the show as part of their ethics programs, Ted Danson said this week on the Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast. “Literally,” he said, wondering if Notre Dame was still offering its Good Place lectures.
What made The Good Place so academically sound? “We had on speed dial, we had three or four ethics professors who would talk to the writers daily to make sure what we were talking about was right,” Danson said. “Sometimes it’s good to get a second, third opinion.”

November is here and with it, the most stressful week (or so) America has seen since the foolish orange buffoon’s last attempt to upend our democracy. Millions of Americans will remember they’re still paying for a cable subscription, or they’ll go looking for the cheapest streaming option offering their favorite national news provider. For hours, days, maybe longer, TV will return to its dominant perch in the cultural landscape, providing exactly what its audience demands, if not always in the way it demands it.
But that’s only one way November will start. The other option is to tune out; to hide from the news until a decision has been finalized; to avert your ears, eyes, and mind from the onslaught of predictive algorithms and precinct polls. Millions of Americans will remember they don’t have to live out their darkest hours glued to the news. Instead,...

List of targets? Check. Bullets? Check. Diapers? Check? You heard me. Lionsgate is loading up on formula and onesies for the action comedy spec Three Hitmen and a Baby. The newly-announced project comes from Dave Matalon (Totally Killer) and Matt Altman (Red Widow). While the title is obviously a play on the 1987 comedy Three Men and Baby, plot details remain elusive. However, the talent behind the film is not. Kelly McCormack and David Leitch will produce through their 87North studio, which bodes well for this curious production.
In Three Men and a Baby, three bachelors have their worlds rocked when a mysterious baby arrives on their doorstep. With almost no experience, the trio must put their one-night-stand lifestyle on hold to ensure the child’s safety, learning valuable lessons about parenthood and themselves. The laugh-out-loud comedy got a sequel in 1990 called Three Men and a Little Lady, which finds the...

Exclusive: Lionsgate has snapped up rights to Three Hitmen and a Baby, an action comedy spec from Dave Matalon (Totally Killer) and Matt Altman (Red Widow), Deadline can exclusively reveal.
Pic’s logline is being kept under wraps, though its title clearly riffs on the classic 1987 comedy Three Men and a Baby, starring Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson, about three bachelors whose lives change forever when a baby suddenly appears on their doorstep. Kelly McCormick and David Leitch will produce through their company 87North, for whom Max Jacoby is overseeing the project. Meredith Wieck and Jon Humphrey are overseeing for Lionsgate.
Screenwriter Matalon most recently co-wrote the slasher comedy Totally Killer! for Blumhouse and Amazon, which headlined Prime Video’s Halloween season last year. As we first reported, his sci-fi action script Level Up, also written with Altman, is in development with The Hideaway and Vandal Entertainment.

November brings both the familiar and the new to screens big and small. A favorite novel gets a new adaptation. A bestselling detective series gets a TV series. A popular movie gets a spinoff in Gladiator II, and a beloved musical finally gets the theatrical treatment fans have waited years for in Wicked. But the month is also set to bring a sure-to-be twisty adaptation of an acclaimed novel and more.

In the manner of most celebrity podcasts, Ted Danson’s conversation with Quinta Brunson on this week’s Where Everybody Knows Your Name quickly devolved into a fawning, mutual lovefest. But despite Danson’s gushing praise for all things comedy and Abbott Elementary, he managed to twist Brunson’s love for Shelley Long into a backhanded slap of his old Cheers co-star.
Brunson explained that her family was made up of Cheers superfans. She remembered watching as a young kid, but really appreciating its craft during reruns when she was a teen. More than most TV comedies, Cheers “felt like a play. Everyone was very grounded,” she told Danson. “I remember thinking that Diane was so grounded. I almost felt like she wasn’t acting.”
That got a laugh from Danson. “I felt the same way being with her sometimes.”
Oof. The comment flew past Brunson but it jibes with...

Ted Danson, 76, formally apologized to Cheers costar Kelsey Grammer on an episode of his podcast for a longstanding feud the pair have had for over 30 years.
Grammer, 69, appeared as a guest on an episode of Danson’s Where Everybody Knows Your Name, which he co-hosts with Woody Harrelson.
While the episode partially served as a Cheers reunion, Danson and Grammer also discussed an argument they once had on set.

Look, obviously the big news this November is the U.S. presidential election.
But for the moments when you want to look away from wall-to-wall coverage (or just stop doomscrolling), Netflix has plenty to keep you occupied. There’s new original Christmas movies like “Hot Frosty” and “The Merry Gentlemen,” as well as more “Outer Banks” for fans of that show created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke. Plus Oscar contenders like “Emilia Perez” are now streaming on the service. But all of that is just preamble to our No. 1 pick this month, because when Mike Schur has a new television show, it’s time to pay attention.
Top Pick: “A Man on the Inside”
Created by Schur and loosely based on the 2020 documentary “The Mole Agent,” the eight-episode comedy series will star Ted Danson, who volunteers to help a private detective by going undercover at a nursing...

It is always nice to see Ted Danson. Having been a part of the industry for the past five decades, he is more than a seasoned hand at work. He is a vital cog in any wheel that he’s associated with.
That holds true even when the man is at the ripe age of 76 – he’s an actor who can pull the fans together. And as if his credentials were not already strong enough, The Good Place has made him a household name in the industry. And with his next series on the horizon, fans only have one question.

Ted Danson is picking up an investigative retirement gig in Mike Schur’s new Netflix comedy, “A Man on the Inside.”
In the trailer for “A Man on the Inside,” Charles (Danson) receives a challenge from his daughter, Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), who expresses concern about his retirement lifestyle in the wake of her mother and his wife’s death, saying, “When mom was alive, they lived this big, full life.”
“I’m giving you a challenge — find something that excites you,” she tells her dad, who answers, “It’s a good challenge; I accept.”
Rather quickly, Charles finds an ad for an investigative assistant, with the requirement that the applicant be aged 75-85. He learns the gig is to find a missing family heirloom that has disappeared within a retirement community, and his job is to pretend to be a new resident, all while sharing intel and a suspect...

For today’s Gen-z kids, The Big Bang Theory and Friends might be some of the shows that they feel are iconic. But long back in the 80s, aired a show that changed the definition of sitcoms and grew a massive fan base across the US.
Yes, we are talking about NBC’s Cheers, which ran successfully from 1982 until its series finale in 1993. Critically acclaimed and loved by many during its original run, the series is one of the best sitcoms.
Cheers is hilarious, intelligent, fast-paced, heartfelt, peopled by unforgettable characters, and consistently good. The story revolves around a Boston bar, owned by Sam Malone (Ted Danson), a former relief pitcher, and has several other main characters, who either work in the bar or visit it regularly.
