Classic rock staple singer-songwriter Yusuf/Cat Stevens is commemorating the 50th anniversary of his two 1970 albums, Mona Bone Jakon and Tea for the Tillerman, with super deluxe box sets. One of the bonuses included is an unearthed music video for his song “Lady D’Arbanville.” Produced for the Mona Bone Jakon release, the music video is one of the earliest ever made.

The black and white video features the inspiration for the title character, Patti D’Arbanville, an actress and model best known for her work with artist Andy Warhol. She also appeared in Real Genius, Time After Time, and played Cathy Smith in the John Belushi biopic Wired. She was Stevens’ girlfriend at the time, and also the inspiration for his song “Wild World.” “Lady D’Arbanville,” which imagines her sleeping, is a metaphor for her being dead. The short film was shot in an English, Gothic-era mansion.

Yusuf/Cat Stevens has released a rediscovered video for “Lady D’Arbanville,” a track off his upcoming 50th-anniversary reissue of Mona Bone Jakon.

The long-lost clip — known as one of the earliest music videos — features Yusuf and actress Patti D’Arbanville in a Gothic English mansion. Inspired by the end of their relationship, the song takes on a dark, somber feel. D’Arbanville later became known for appearing in Andy Warhol’s projects.

Cathy Smith, the onetime girlfriend of singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot who might have been best remembered for inspiring the hit song “Sundown” had she not met up with John Belushi at the Chateau Marmont on March 5, 1982, died Aug. 18 at the age of 73.

Her death was reported by Canada’s The Globe and Mail. The longtime resident of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, had been on oxygen and in failing health the past few years, the newspaper said.

Smith, who had been a back-up singer (and occasional drug supplier) to the Canadian rockers who would later become The Band (she claimed “The Weight” was inspired by her), admitted to injecting Belushi with the heroin and cocaine that led to his death at age 33. Close to year after news broke that Bill Moseley would be playing the lead in Manson Girls comes word, via Variety , that production has started on the Susanna Lo film. Actor Paul Dano prepared himself for his raunchy cross-dressing role in "The Extra Man" by taking private lessons at a New York school for drag queens. The "There Will Be Blood" star admits he was nervous about putting on a red slip and getting spanked by model-turned-actress Patti D'Arbanville in the new film, based on a novel by Jonathan Ames.

The Independent Film Festival of Boston kicks off on Wednesday. If you're in the New England area, this is the best film festival around, having supplanted the fall Boston Film Festival as the one to be at after less than a decade of existence. It offers a great opportunity to see a lot of great independent films, a few of which are premieres, and several of which played earlier at Sundance or at South by Southwest. IFFBoston, however, offers a more low-key opportunity to see those same movies without having to deal with the massive crowds or the lengthy lines. Even two days before the festival begins, you can still purchase tickets and walk up, half an hour before showtime, and get a seat. Hollywood star Don Johnson and his wife Kelley had double reason for celebration on Saturday, after their third child was born on the same day as their seventh wedding anniversary. The baby boy, who has yet to be named, was born yesterday morning at a Los Angeles hospital, weighing a healthy 7 pounds. A spokesperson yesterday announced that both mother and baby were doing well, and described the Miami Vice actor as "over the moon times six." The new arrival is a baby brother to the couple's young son Jasper and six-year-old daughter Grace. The 56-year-old star also has a daughter, Dakota, with former wife Melanie Griffith, and a son, Jesse, with actress Patti D'Arbanville.

Hollywood actor Don Johnson is set to become a dad again at the age of 56. The actor's spokesperson, Elliot Mintz, has confirmed to TV show The Insider that the former Miami Vice star and his wife, Kelley, will become parents once again. Mintz says, "They are expecting their third child together. They are thrilled. Kelley is expected to give birth in about four months. Kelley, Don and family are currently at their ranch near Aspen, Colorado, looking forward to the New Year... anticipating the arrival of their baby." The couple have been married since 1999.
