Introduction to Laser Diffraction

Particle size analysis by laser diffraction is a fast and reliable technique, providing an accurate measurement of particle size with low effort and in a matter of seconds. Laser diffraction can be used for analysing a wide range of particle sizes, from millimetric grains down to nanoparticles. Laser diffraction analysers are nowadays an essential tool for the investigation of powders, granules, suspensions and formulations, in several application fields.

These instruments use a specific optical model to convert scattering data into a particle size distribution. The simple interaction of a laser beam with particles can provide information about size distribution in the sample.

In this webinar, we will provide a simple introductory overview on laser diffraction, exploring the science behind the technique and the most common measuring procedures for different kind of samples.

The webinar is ideal to someone who wants to understand the fundamental science behind the measurement.
