Puy du Fou
The second most popular theme park in France, this historical attraction tells the fictional story of a Vendée family from the Middle Ages to the present day. With recreations of scenes from different eras of history, Puy du Fou provides an entertaining and educational experience for the whole family.
Ile d'Yeu
Located 20km off the coast of the Vendée, this island offers beautiful and wild landscapes. With different activites from scuba diving, cliff diving, kayaking and cycling complemented by beautiful panoramic views visitors have no shortage of options.
Passage du Gois
A 4km passage which links Ile de Noirmoutier to the Vendée, the Passage du Gois is only traversable at low tide. SInce 1971 there has been a bridge which has been a more reliable alternative to crossing the water but the unique nature of the Passage makes it a popular local attraction.
Chateau de Tiffauges
Situated inland, this medieval castle, which was reputedly the home of the notorious Bluebeard, has only recently begun to welcome visitors. Here travellers can take part in Medieval festivals and shows that give provide a flavour of how life was in the Middle Ages.
Zoo des Sables
Not far from the beaches of Sables-d'Olonee is this zoo which provides a home to 40 different spieces of animal from big cats to reptiles. As an eco zoo, it houses many endangered animals in an environment that is as close as possible to their natural habitat.
