Lighthouse El Faro de Cabo de Palos
Located on a rocky headland above the city of Cartagena, this lighthouse marks an important patch of land mentioned by famed ancient historian Pliny the Elder. Due to the intensity of attacks made by the Barbary pirates, Carlos I constructed a tower here in 1578. This was demolished and the stones used to construct the current lighthouse.
Bridge Puente de la Risa
This unusual stone bridge is located at the northern end of La Manga del Mar Menor and was recently renovated and reopened to the public. The bridge is the last vestige of plans to create a Little Venice in the area. Its elegant sloping sides recall the grandeur of Venetian bridges.
