About the Role
While we are an established playground for red teamers, we aspire to become a place for all cybersecurity professionals. For this reason, we will be growing our Defensive Content team. If you are reading this, most likely, you are a cybersecurity professional, so you are aware of the great shortage of skills and people in the cyberspace, which impacts the ability of organizations to protect themselves. This is the problem you’ll be solving, by creating engaging labs, if you decide to join our team.
As a Defensive Content Engineer, you’ll focus on building & testing content that aims at upskilling our community of individual players and businesses! The role will encompass testing, development, review and ongoing maintenance of our Defensive challenges and CTF offerings. You will contribute to our growing Content team, and report to the Defensive Content Lead, working in a highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Testing and maintaining machines, labs, and challenges.
- Assist in the development of new content.
- Research to remain on top of current vulnerabilities, exploits, tools, tactics, and procedures relevant to the target audience
- Research to remain on top of defensive techniques
Requirements
- Experience in a Defensive security operations environment
- Familiarity with Defensive security tooling (SIEM, EDR, Volatility, Autopsy, etc)
- System administration experience (Windows, Linux, etc.)
- Strong grasp of at least one scripting language (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Highly organised, motivated, with a passion for information security
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new skills
- An understanding of process documentation
- Proficient in the English language (speaking, reading, writing)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience in web application and/or network penetration testing
- Prior creation of blue team gamified challenges
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware Workstation, ESXi, vCenter)
- Familiarity with public/private cloud technologies (GCP, Azure, AWS)
- Familiarity with micro-services & containerisation technologies
- Familiarity with Active Directory deployment and configuration
