Hwajinpo Beach is famous for offering one of the most beautiful views of the sunrise in Goseong.
The Sunrise Festival is held at Hwajinpo Beach in Goseong, the northernmost place along the east coastline of South Korea, on New Year’s Day every year out of the long-cherished wish for the reunification of Korea.
There are a variety of events and programs organized, in addition to the sunrise event, and they include a performance by a military band, candlelight ceremony, send-off of balloons of hope, etc.
