Goseong, Gangwon-do Province is located between Geumgangsan and Seoraksan mountains surrounded by splendid natural scenery with the sea, mountains, lakes and valleys nearby. It also has other rich tourism resources such as the Unification Observatory, Alps Ski Resort and a number of cultural and historic sites. It is garnering attention as a suitable area for creating a public leisure zone and a base for unification by preserving and developing the tourism resources of Geumgangsan Mountain.
