mom got me a logged flight lesson. my dad got to ride as passenger while I taxi, take off, climb, stall, steep turn, and land the plane...
fun part was: I was supposed to get some time on their simulator first. but it was in use so i got extra flight time... they asked if i had any sim experience. my moms reaction: name any sim made between 2002 and now and he has flown it (which is true for all but a couple exceptions...) I just stood there and grinned ^^
was a 1 hour flight around the San Francisco bay and a little time helping them re calibrate their sim (technical issues i helped with a bit) was very fun though ^^

YAYYYY ^^ any flight time is good time. but helicopters are cooler xD
props and helis screw themselves through the air. jets suck and blow...
Awesome, I wanna get flying lessons one day but it's gunna be a while until I can - that kind of thing is really expensive :c
not always... not the cheapest thing to do but doesnt have to cost a crazy ammount of money
Oooh, cool. I flew N6253G (C172) out of Sundance in Palo alto a while back. Was just curious if you ended up in the same plane by chance since the one I flew was painted in the same colors :P
A Cessna Skyhawk...or, as pilots like to put it: a Skychicken.
Don't let the nickname or the fact that it's a "lowly" trainer fool you, though--they're actually very capable airplanes. A lot of bush operators swear by them.

Oh I knew it was a C172, I was enquiring about tail number since I flew N6253G out of sundance flying club in palo alto a while back :P
I was fairly certain of that--mine was a 5-hours-redundant comment, after all. Was more of an excuse to call it a Skychicken than anything. ;)
It's a term of endearment, of course. Like so many others, I have both learned to fly--and instructed--in a 172.

Im thinking about doing my heli license eventually too. we will see
It's good to see more and more furs in the aviation industry, I've always wanted to fly but I'm aiming for Air Force Fighter pilot (when I'm done with my AMT licenses and all that >.>)
