I'll admit it. I enjoy General Bridgebane's serene dignity and artful grace (and occasional competitive streak), and I'm having a great time discovering what my newest character, Androcles, is developing into, but it's Vincent, my Beast, who is my favorite. I love the romance, the old-school drama, and damn, but I do love that rose. When I've got that costume on and I pick up that rose, everything clicks. Everybody knows who he is, and the ones who get the subtext that he's the TV show version smile even wider. He is instantly accessible and approachable. The vest and cape are touchstones- my mother made them for me after she saw me handing out flowers at a nursing home. (Grandma had been staying there, recovering from surgery, it was Halloween, and she wanted to see my lion!)

It's also my most complete costume- General Bridgebane -still- needs a new robe! (Arrgh!) If I could ever find a glass rose to replace the one I accidentally shattered back at Anthrocon 2011, I think I might do backflips. (I'd need Max and Ziggy's help to not land flat on my back or face, of course, but still...)
