This magical horse is Covey, talented sniper of overly large flighted creatures for the militia of a distant, endangered group of ponies at war with the environment, far outside of and completely unrelated to the nation of Equestria. Or something along those lines, Im not used to actually *naming* the characters that pop into my head.
She comes from a fairly long line of marksicorns, the details of which I haven't thought through.
Her personality, again, I haven't done much developing. At this point, and this could go either way, the picture speaks more about that than I can right now. But, I can say for certain that the whole "cold sniper" trope is totally not at play!
Her cutie mark represents shooting dragons, because its a picture of something vaguely dragon-y with something vaguely crosshairs-y over it, also a heart because its better than a boring old dot. Because she shoots dragons, get it?
She's wearing kind of a preliminary barely-designed woodsy outfit, held on by that little blue ribbon thing and a non-depicted belt, supposedly part of the uniform of the militia she's a party to. Also, there's some booties I thought would be cool, and while they didnt exactly turn out right for various avoidable reasons, I still kind of like the concept behind them; I dunno, what do you think?
Behind her, suspended by overly-bright tendrils of magical arcs of magic, is one of the guns she uses to do that thing she does as a sniper. It's a single-shot rifle that has a scope for seeing things, a muzzle break because it looks cool, an overly long bipod for some reason, a stock that's never used because its held with magic, and a conductive wire to shoot the gun with electricky magic. Also hanging off the bipod is a pair of goggles, for eye goggling. This particular gun is used for shooting down hostile griffons, as most dragons' armored hides would stop a regular bullet (That's for a slightly different, much larger canon-breaking cannon).
The electricky telekinesis is mainly there because I thought it'd be more interesting than the regular wavy grab-clouds that actually follows show canon, and because it gives me an excuse to paint in some really weird-looking lighting. Not that I intended for it to be quite *that* weird looking, or really all that bright; I originally drew in the lighting on a lower-opacity layer, since I wanted the glow to be a bit more subtle, partly because I only sort of knew what I was doing, but then I turned the opacity up to full and thought, hey, that looks pretty cool too. As the first thing I ever actually shaded in with any degree of effort, I think it came out as the first thing I ever actually shaded in with any degree of effort.
I know that my linework is, to put it lightly, fuffing terrible, I've been trying to find some sort of method to make it less fuffing terrible, and as you can see I'm still looking. That, and colors; I really need to learn better the color theory, so as to make colorful horse characters actually look good with the rest of the horse character. If it isnt clear, because of my overzealous and underskilled shadeslaught, her colors are a pale-ish totally-not-Twilight bluish-purple for her hide, and a sort of desaturated sea-green for her longer hairs.
Not much else to say, so enjoy!
