Sketch commission for ghostblackburn their chubby, blind, ninja rat character Garth. I adore this character for pretty much everything that he has going on here. I love rats, I love ninjas, I love blind characters, I love bandages... I just love this whole character to bits. I hope I portrayed his weight correctly, as I'm still practicing with heavier body types!
Oh! He's practicing with Sai here. Gold Sai would actually be pretty useless because of how soft that metal is, but they look really cool. Drawn from memory, because my brother uses Sai all the time.
Hope you like it! :D

Thank you! I've been looking at hundreds of actiony/dynamic poses recently in an effort to make my own work less static and boring. Glad to hear it's paying off! :P
i - i really need to start doing the same so it's kinda inspirational really ;3;
there was a lot of kung fu fighting! Some hits were fast as lightning. I am getting the song all wrong, so I will now I'll go run along.
Great stoof :3
I don't think I've seen you use actiony poses that often before o:

They scare me! I am actually super scared of action poses, weird perspective, backgrounds... I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone recently. ;)
I should do the same, too. I've been writing/drawing a comic recently (in private, save for some WIPs I put up here). The poses, the interaction, backgrounds, perspective, dear god, such a challenge. ;A; I normally just draw faces, expressions, and different face/body types and animal species. Nothing interesting at all, and taking this on all of a sudden is just, like, BAM. D:
That said, you're doing great! :> Have you tried doing something sequential yourself? Not like a full comic, just a few panels of a character or two doing a single thing. It's a very useful way to practise I reckon, more so than just drawing the same things frequently and trying to improve those. o:

I have done comics in the past, but I suffer from a bad case of stupids and I never finish them ever.
http://excess-0.deviantart.com/gallery/27125193 Here's where I keep the ones that don't make me weep as badly as the rest.
I actually crave comics like a beast, and I really wish I had the time to do them again. I definitely love them, and they are amazing for getting you out of every comfort zone ever.

Moseying through them quickly, they look pretty good!

I dig your expressions SO MUCH! :D And the way you do human faces. Style an' shit. Since I'm such a stereotypical furfag, I haven't practised humans as much as I should. Not to mention, more extreme expressions. o: I should look into those.
YOU SHOULD DO MORE COMIX
COMIX = GUD
I WANT TO STARE AT THEM LONGER

ahhh it's so oooold noooo ;-;
That panel is like... Yeah. We have a lot of filthy little shacks like that where I'm from. XD Sam is probably closest to me, out of all my characters, at least in terms of personality.
I started with drawing animals, graduated to anthros and monsters, and from there I went to humans. Once I got into humans though, I just like... I drew nothing but. Animals are easier though, I admit.

More likely would be gold plated steel sai, since it'd have the strength of steel and the glimmering outer shell of gold o:
and i am loving the action pose! you pulled it off really well, in my opinion :D
and i totally have a soft spot for rats, too. especially kung fu-style rats <33 it just seems so fitting for some reason!

I think it seems fitting because of all the TMNT I watched as a kid. XD Master Splinterrrrr~
