Mainly just a helpful study of the Cooper hawk eye. Rather unique to the Cooper's Hawk, their iris, Yellow when born will slowly turn red as they mature. The result being they're easy to age (almost adulthood) and they have really sweet lookin red eyes.
This Coopers Hawk was hit by a car, yet as cooper hawks usually do he pretty much shook it off (their high speed life lands them in impact accidents more often than you'd think). 3 weeks later (date of photo) he passed his eye exam and was free to go.
