I've been following HN, it's the best thing Dana's done since Ozzy & Millie.
I just had to check out the web comic as I had been following Ozzie and Millie since the mid 1990s. I really enjoyed the clever dialog and of couse the wonderful characterizations. Now for this image it at first appeared to me that Nikki was draped over the Unicorn's neck kind of like a hunting trophy. In this case though, the Vixen doesn't seem to mind one bit.
Heh heh! I have a cartoon somewhere I clipped from a magazine in the late 1970s which has a "Rich" lady walking out of a "Furrier" store with a live fox draped around her shoulders. What I like about the cartoon is the excited and happy look on the fox's face. It's like the critter is thinking, "I'm going to a new home!" Anyhoo, I believe I'd much rather prefer the "Stole" being alive and happy.
Hey now. That's one lucky fox. It was great to see how the two got along together. There was a fellow by the name of David MacDonald I believe who rescued foxes and raised them and wrote a book about his experiences titled "On the Trail of the red fox." (I might be wrong about that too.) His first fix was a little kit he rescued after her mother was killed. He had a beard too, and would let the kit snuggle in it for warmth. Eventually the kit would crawl up to his ear and whimper until she fell asleep. This is why he named her "Niff" or "Niffer."
That reminds me of the merrie melodies cartoon where the fox hears on the radio how stylish it is to wear fox and he imagines people walking around with a live fox draped around their shoulders looking extra classy.
