I have been meaning to do a portrait of 
blackwell in the style of Toulouse-Lautrec's Belle Epoch posters for a while now and what better time than his birthday?? And what a fun style to play around with! I have to say it suits his personality.

If you've never seen his posters, you should look them up! Awesome French artist. And it was omg fun to emulate
Very nice. Looks definitely like it was patterned after his style - though I wish you'd have varied the line weight a little more on the man as you did in the seal. Overall, a very nice piece. I really like the smoke.
Thanks! I'm glad it's pretty recognizable as Lautrec style haha. I see what you mean! It's like sometimes he puts big slabs of color in his works and I was kinda going for that with the coat but I def agree, some thin lines would add some nice variation over there & on the pants.
That's an amazing idea Just to help you, as I'm french : if by "L'alchemiste" you meant "alchemist" ( in english ) the correct traduction is "L'alchimiste" ( in french, so ) :) Sorry though if i get your idea wrong ! :c

Oh wow! Excellent observation. I actually didn't know it was spelled that way in french, I just though it was alchemiste as well.
"Alchemy" is actually spelled "alchimie" in french :) Learning new langages is so interesting ! You're welcome for the help, and thank you for not taking it badly !

I've had one of the warmest, calmest, most relaxed and loving birthdays ever and this is like the cherry on top of all of it!
