This is really cool and thought-provoking. I wonder if the general populace would be able to resist all the extra costumes that would be shed? In any case, that last dragon has my vote.

You forgot the point where the extra costumes are burned as an endless source of free energy, thereby solving the energy crisis. And probably causing a new environmental crisis in the process from the toxic fumes, but you can't have everything.
But yes, it's become quite a fitting metaphor for transhumanism, which will probably end up going the same way.

I think the aftermaths of TFs should be explored more often. Who says the fun ends when the TF ends? The vict--er--volunteer still has a whole life to lead!
