These are basically a collection of my philosophical thoughts. You are, of course, allowed to agree or disagree.
Just be civil. That's all I ask.
This was done for me by the great genesisw, however, all quotes are mine. Don't bother her with them. :)

Stern Stargazer. Never thought I see such a thing.
Also I have to say that I agree with a lot of if not all of these truisms.

Well, if you agreed with them all, I wouldn't have to say them, would I?
I don't think I have as big of a problem with needles as you appear to, and the site of blood doesn't phase me. I'd still not going to let someone prick me without a good reason though. I've only been to two countries - the US and Canada. I have a bit of stage freight, whether there are few or many people around.
I pretty much agree with all the moral and philosophical statements and opinions you made though. Actually, they are too logical and full of common sense to not agree with them.

Oh, hey, it's a Care Bear!
...what happened to the mark on his tummy?
...what happened to the mark on his tummy?
That line is a quote from the novel, "The Stars My Destination" by Alfred Bester. Vorga is the name of a spaceship.
Heh. Interesting. I must admit, I need to read a few more science fiction novels. I'm just never sure if what I'll pick up is good or not.
Reminds me more of "We Are All One/God/Christ. Be Here Now. All One, All God, All Together. Be Here Now"

GEN!! GEN!! YOU FORGOT ONE!!
"Leaning to forgive others is one of the most important things you need to learn in life. A man who bears grudges all his life has chains on his heart. Forgiveness frees your heart."
GO BACK AND FIX IT!!!
*ducks and runs*
I'm joking, Gen. I said you could leave off any you wanted.

In all seriousness, thanks for posting this. It's nice to know I'm not really a hypocrite, even if I feel like it sometimes.
You are not a hypocrite if you don't always live up to your own standard. You want to, you try, but just because you don't succeed does not make you a hypocrite.
Now, if you start making EXCUSES for yourself...
Now, if you start making EXCUSES for yourself...
Right, and I just got done commenting on your LJ entry to that effect. Could you answer my question there?
Maybe subconsciously. Overtly, I'm not aware of making any excuses, except perhaps an insistence that "I don't know why I do..." and then fill in the blank. Thankfully, I'm at least committed to improving, and it helps to know I've gotten better. I just need to figure out what step is next, or at least get in touch with God so he can tell me. At least I've got options.
Well, that's the eternal struggle, isn't it? Nobody ever does anything they think is wrong at the time. If they thought it was wrong, they would not do it. There is a stronger motivation that is telling them it isn't wrong at the same time (hence my truism about multiple motivations). Just keep trying. It may look like you aren't making progress, but just think of Jacob and his struggle with the Angel. He was totally defeated, but refused to surrender.
The angels I wrestle with don't seem quite so nice. =P But yeah, don't matter... I'm not a defeatist. God gave me a good name, and I intend to live up to it as much as possible.
Well, these are actually MY beliefs. Stargazer is not quite so harsh. I put in Stargazer because he is closer to this image of me than either Dipper or Birch.
I have tried to be a salesman at one point. I don't like it. I'm happy for my present position where the customers come to me already knowing they need my company's services. It's much easier.
There's a lot of stuff in here that I never thought about... I felt it in my heart, but I never had the vocabulary to put it into words(which is really the only way I can understand it).
Work at it. Rough it out. Keep trying. You think I did these overnight?
Some of the wording on these has taken years.
Some of the wording on these has taken years.
It wouldn't have surprised me if you had; I've met a few people who could.
Still, work at it. The more you practice, the better you get at putting feelings and emotions into words. It's what good authors do.
Two sexes actually makes logical sense, if you think about it this way:
If you only needed one human to reproduce, the species would be mostly stagnant except for random mutations.
If you needed three humans to reproduce, you need a group of at least five to ensure a coupling can form; if four, at least seven.
With two, you have variation by selection, and you can ensure a coupling possibility with three or more.

As I've said previously, genetic diversity is a good argument for hermaphrodism, but not a bi-sexual species. With a bi-sexual species you effectively have two species who are mutating in parallel. Remember that things still have to fit.
Often the arguments used to explain what we see carry with it an assumption that we already know how we got there. The process of getting there gets forgotten. Also, a sense of direction is assumed in a system which is supposed to be mindless.

Oh, heavens, no. With true hermaphrodism, you run the risk of having both partners pregnant at the same time, impacting their ability to hunt and gather. With set genders, one member of the pair is guaranteed not to become pregnant, and so remains available to provide. That's why the dual genders remain a constant in fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds. It's simply the best compromise between genetic diversity and practical concerns.
But that assumes the end. Why would it be necessary to hunt and gather? You're assuming that they are already hunting and gathering, when clearly at the time bi-sexuality began, there was no hunting and gathering.
On the contrary; hunting and gathering exist at the asexual level of bacteria. (It's perfectly logical; a static organism will eventually run out of food, while a mobile organism, though it must consume more, is better able to locate and make use of resources.)
So, since hunting and gathering are proven to exist at the asexual level of life, my hypothesis remains valid.
So, since hunting and gathering are proven to exist at the asexual level of life, my hypothesis remains valid.
It still assumes the result. "Oh, this is superior, so therefore it evolved towards it." This doesn't work with a mindless system. A mindless system doesn't think about how bisexuality being superior, nor would it evolve towards it.
I'm sorry, but it's called "survival of the fittest", not "survival of the weakest". The system is superior because it produces a better end result; if it produces a better end result, it will displace less superior options wherever possible. That's straight from Darwin, so I don't see how it's against evolution.
That's not the point. The point is, sexual diversity doesn't make survival sense. But I'm going to drop the argument now.
The evolution of sex is a heavily discussed project, but to say that an answer will not be found is appeal to ignorance and to argue hat it doesn't make sense to you is appeal to incredulity. Suggesting it has something to do with God's nature is not only a red-herring it is incongruent assuming the abrahamic definition of that (not that it was coherent to begin with, but it still isn't mentioned in the definition).
Okay, there are several flaws in your reasoning.
I've never said that an answer will not be found. Only that it hasn't. That is not a logical fallacy.
To say that it doesn't makes sense to me is not intended to be a logical argument, only a statement of fact. It DOESN'T make sense to me.
And again, suggesting that it has something to do with God's nature is only a statement of opinion, not a logical argument.
In fact, the reason why the statement begins with the words "To me" is to make it clear that this is a statement of opinion, not a logical argument.

You purposely added a philosophy tag to your work, philosophy is not just statements of opinion, you are supposed to defend your position.
Besides, you are literally dismissing years of research of a field you are not an expert on, based on supernatural pretense, I couldn't say nothing.
Yes, you COULD!! And you KNOW you could.
Listen, jerk, these are MY truisms. Nobody else's. Your mileage may vary. You can agree or disagree, that's fine.
But you DON'T go and debate them with me, as if to prove me wrong. Got it?

Interesting fact...originally, pink was considered manly, and blue feminine. It was boys that were dressed in pink, and girls in blue. Over time, however, the roles were reversed.
I can honestly say I never considered the two-sexes quote.
And the one about hating children reminds me of a quotation by Yahtzee Crowshaw. "Parents tell me, 'You were a child once!' Yes, but I had the strength of character to overcome my disability."

I agree with many of these, but I felt the need to open my big fuckin' mouth and point out ...
pedophobia (a fear/intense dislike of children) usually has little to do with self-hatred or anything of the sort. I, myself, don't like children because I know I tend to get very impatient with them, causing them to feel hurt. It's not an aspect of myself I've had much luck changing, and frankly I don't much care to because I have never wanted children. So I avoid other people's kids to avoid doing them unintentional harm. I also have a friend who is legitimately terrified of kids. knows it doesn't make sense, acknowledges the ridiculousness of it, but still has adrenaline spikes when near children, especially loud ones. I doubt very much she has any sort of self-loathing hiding in her psyche that caused that.
as for the rest of it ... I can get behind most of it, although I don't believe in any deities ... but that's a personal thing.

Woah, I agree with almost everything you have there... and the couple I didn't immediately say "I agree" on were just smaller things I'd never thought about like the "Two Sexes" idea or 'Baby Colours' or the needles (I've had too many samples taken and needles in the last decade to be too stressed anymore) but I definitely cannot enjoy talking to a crowd... I do it at times and still break out in a cold sweat before hand!
You tell some very straight truths here.

I don't believe that's how it works.

Whether the commentators here have agreed or disagreed, or have outright trolled you, nobody can deny that it takes courage to share your honest, personal opinion about things. Especially matters as serious as these, and especially if you know some of them may upset some of the more sensitive readers.
It's an admirable trait that more of us should have, and you have my respect for it.

Thank you! I find that being honest with people works best.
Fortunately, I also know when to hold my tongue....most of the time. And I have the toenail marks on my tongue to show when I didn't. :)

It's nice to see people share their wisdom. I may not agree with everything, but that is because everyone has a different perspective. I rather like yours, even if there are some things I slightly disagree with.
Those philosophies are also mine, and it has taken a painful road to get them.
I thank my mother for teaching me that raw veggies make wonderful snacks. My weight problem is bad enough as it is without eating junk food like I eat carrots.

I don't expect the world to change!!! 90 - 95% of Humanity is JUST AS Q described: "A Dangerously Savage Child Race"!!! (I am among the 95%).

Hypocrisy is a word I hear a lot if the sermon my preacher is preaching has anything to do with the religious elite of the day in Jesus's time, the Pharisees. They were supposed to be the top of the top, and yet they missed the point!
Christian furs never rlly made sense to me...
It's like, how can you be apart of one group that wants to accept everyone and be equal, and then be apart of another that's the exact opposite?

I agree with most of it (99%).
I can understand you as someone who's very firm about your thoughts, and I respect you and your beliefs.

No two people are going to agree on everything. Learning to respect that in others makes life far more interesting.
