I did this few months ago. mainly for experimenting with something.
It turns out to be okay... Not totally satisfied.

Wow this is amazing! The background really reminds me of the city in jak 2, no idea if you've ever played it though :P
I never played it, but I heard it's one of the best 3D platformer. And the main character had a awesome sidekick.
This.. Is simply stunning.... Hard to put words to the detail, and beauty of this piece.
having so few watches with art level like this is is absolute injustice :C
amazed with the feeling of space in this scenery.

Well, I don't Really know how to promote myself. And I hardly know any furry forums.
Neither do I, but I wish I knew. Well, keep on drawing marvellous stuff like this, and I'm sure your fame will find ya :3
I have to say this is fantastic and the background as well as the charecter in this is amazing. So very well done.
oh... oh my god. the composition, the messy bazaar landscape of canopies, the colors, the gold on the lion -- this is stupid impressive :0
I wish I could get to the point of being such an amazing artist that something like this is just "okay." Because when I saw this in my inbox, even just looking at the thumbnail my first thought was "This is amazing!" So if this is "okay," I'd really love to see what you consider "excellent"! Keep up the good work!
This is great, and I hope I can draw cities that well in the future. You've done very good, I think you can be proud. :D I give a shit what you think about it. It IS awesome!
Oh-ho wow! This is awesome!
Everything about this is great. Beautiful and well designed character, stunning and engaging background!

I know virtually nothing about this setting but I love it already. The sprawling, buildings-on-buildings aesthetic is amazing. Plus, the picture as a whole makes me think of the difficulty in finding a place all your own in a crowded city like that.
looking really amazing, it has a great sense of composition, design, love the loose brush strokes and the way you handled it. The lion has a appealing outfit too.
This is, incidentally, absolutely amazing. The city has soul and depth, and all those puffs and clouds of smoke were a beautiful touch. Sound like a dork mentioning this, but the usage of aerial perspective is just delicious! <3
For me, it's kinda evocative of Enslaved, which while a short and somewhat repetitive game mechanically, had some legitimately breathtakingly beautiful landscapes and scenes! One of those games that you could lose yourself in just looking around... kinda like I lost myself looking through this here pic. :3

It remindes me of the slum area in JakeII :3
really awesome! :3
really awesome! :3
You made me say wow!
I am now happily watching :D
The composition of the background is excellent, well balanced and gives a nice sense of a full intricate world.
I would have liked to see you describe the process that you followed to build the background up.

It's a very experimental stuff for me. I build the environment up with big chunks of dark value, see if the composition work, and detail them out.
Awesome. It's great to see someone using that approach.
I'll have to try it myself sometimes.

Thank you guys. I was really surprised that you actually liked it. I struggled a lot while I did this painting, I guess it didn't come out as bad as I think it is.
Holy moly. This is incredible! It's really great to see someone integrate a character in to a landscape, instead of slapping on a background as an afterthought.
This painting is really alive.

When the background becomes the subject it's astounding like this piece.
This is very neat, lots of action and depth to the scene ^^ great work ♥
Oh how I do like your cityscapes, plenty of detail to keep me looking for a while. :D
beautiful stuff! like how you put the focus on the character without getting lost in the detail around them.
Great textures and colours :D

Can't believe I only now just stumbled onto this. Amazing background, you should have this on CGHub.
This is really awesome, reminds me of some towns from the game Borderlands.
Really Great Work. :3

I didn't say 'wow' when I saw this piece in another site, but I did say woah, so I hope that counts for something.
It's like there's almost too much going on in this picture! Lovely work though, really dramatic. :3
wow that is really awsome, it actuall gives me this steampunk/dieselpunk, with a hint of mythpunk.
You know, I've watched furry artists putting goggles on their characters. Most of the time, I thought that wasn't a functional detail, only a fashion gimmick.
But an environment like this definitely deserves a good eye protection!
