I never liked that mouse. Fact is I used and still use a tuplio adapter so I can use a PC mouse on my Amigas. I favor a logitech thumb ball.

While the mouse of the 1200 and 4000 had a better shape I still didn't like them much. I had a beetle mouse I used until I got the A4000 into 800x600 resolution. At that point the Amiga mice were not good enough, the pointer jumped around. I had to go tuplio and the PC mice.

Until I discovered the thumb ball controllers my preference was a mouseman. A big bear paw of a mouse that fits my hand perfectly. I'ed use one on the Linux box except it has a serial connector and no scroll wheel. I love my scroll wheel.

Have to agree about the mouse.

And coincidentally I'm also fervent Logitech thumb trackball user. Got three of them to go with all my computers

Really great especially with laptops since they require no table or space to use.

Amen to that. I'm no fan of track pads or eraser pointers, both of which my T-61 has. (Yes Linux). You can use a trackball on the arm of a chair.

I keep a 4:3 flat screen monitor and a scan doubler handy. My last Idek Ilyama bit the big one.

Bit off topic, but if anyone wants to play Superfrog, Team 17 has given permission to Dream17 fan site to legally distribute their whole Amiga catalog!

Oh and yes, the mod is cool don't get me wrong. I hated clearing those things out all the time. If you didn't clean them they would die. Pop the ball, clear the rollers of the dust and lint, swab everything down in alcohol. At least once a month. Mechanical mice were a pain in the keester.

So if you like the old Amiga mice or just want the right look, that is a cool mod indeed.

How is is done? I have my old Beetle mouse (dead from a faulty roller) and a box full of various Amiga mice. Even a black one for the CDTV.

First I made it to work with ball (fitting pc mouse's system to work with Amiga mouse's ball, which is bigger than pc mouse's ball), but recently it's working with optical system, as you may see, from pc mouse. The cord you see in this picture is from pc mouse. I chanced it to Amiga mouse's cord (and wires) some time ago. But as I said, the system itself is from pc mouse, only the buttons are from Amiga mouse (for the authentic sounds of "clicking"). I have to re-wire it sometime, there is some contact disturbance sometimes. I've used only dead Amiga mouses to build this.

I love this mouse, it even fits my hand better than some of new mouses (which are too flat imo).
