For my Art History I class, our final assignment was to take inspirational pieces in the timeline that we picked and correspond it with our course. Of course I"m Media Arts and Animation so it was easy to come up with what to do, just what subject to do ... after all, I"ve come to realize that Medias really is the "jack of all trades" since we, at times, need to know 3D stuff, Interior, some fashion here and there, scenery and landscapes, anything really along with the animation itself and concept art XDDD;
but animating isn"t quite my forté yet ... i really should do it more ... but for now, digital painting is my top of the line productivity .w. Anywho ... back to what I did, I decided I take a really old story and give it an artistic twist : )
I decided to go with none other than, japan influence, and inspired by their paintings, made a digital painting dedicated to the legendary folk tale of The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. If you all don"t know why I made the title, that is because it is the name of the person in this digital painting that I did. Her name is Kaguya Hime, which in japanese literally means "Moon Princess"
Oh, and btw, I didn"t type the lettering, I drew it in xp
