EDIT - reconsidering the name again. Maybe a name with somethingwith an X, Y or Z in the name, like Zahara.
Her face is looking very neutral here, her early sketch even made her look like an Olson twin.. ._.

Aydana sounds terrible and completely unfitting but go on if this makes you happy.
Yeah, I don't like the name as much after all. I make bad choices past midnight. :p
Midnight is the worst time of the day possible!
I suggested Alyson before, guess you don't like the sound of that. I can think of a few more like... Lyanna, Stephanie, Kaytlynn, Roxanne.

Annoyingly enough, all of my recent images were things I've been drawing past midnight :p
I'm mostly looking for names which are somewhat otherwordly without being completely strange. Zahara, Naora, Xilith, things like that.
She's still demonic in origin, albeit one of the lower ranked ones to serve as a servant / assistant to a lord.

And Alyson was too close to my monkey named Alizee (yes, like the French singer, but not based on her in the slightest :p)
I hate the french singer.
If you want a demonic sounding name, putting a y, an x or z in it isn't gonna do the job most of the time. Demonic names are usually latin-sounding or gaelic, and if she's meant to be a lower-rank and servant then you definitely don't want to give her a name that sticks out soo much. Examples of well-known demoness characters are Trish, Nevan, Morrigan Aensland, Lilith, Jezebel Locke(a z!), Astaroth... it helps to keep these in mind to get your bearings on the theeming of syllables and sound of the name. Zahara does not sound demonic at all to me, rather extraterrestrial. Naora sounds asian. Xilith sounds kind of tribal. This is what I meant by Aydana not fitting, it even sounds like a sentence ("Hey Dana!"), and I made my own suggestions based on what she looks like; to me she kind of makes me think of an odd type of elf that I would describe as 'volcanic elf' or something. Maybe it's the lack of tail or actual demonic features besides the horns; somehow open-toed thigh-high boots don't say " demonic servant" to me.

I tried to be subtle in her design, I'm not giving her wings or a tail just to make it obvious she's demonic in nature. For example, I rather enjoyed the man who portrayed the Devil in Needful Things. No horns, no tail, just an old man who was "happy to help others" and the only moment they did show he was a demon, was when they showed a close-up of his claw-like fingernails during a private moment.
... Well anyway, I don't feel like she really needs wings. A wing is debatable, but even then.
Names are fucking annoying to think about. Actually, I also hate the notion that the name should be meaningful to who the character is RIGHT NOW, not to what the parent had envisioned for their child to be when it'd grow up (brings me back to a time when someone copied my character, gave her a gibberish name and claimed it meant "death angel" in Drow. Yes, as a parent, I want my child to be named Death Angel too)

Nah you don't really need to give obvious demonic features, of course. Was just saying.
And yes, I know very well how hard it can be to find a good name for your own character, but really, do you have to think about their parents's intention too? I'm not saying the name has to make sense to the other chracters. I said that it needs to fit the character herself. Maybe it's just me but if I look at a character and hear the name and don't see how the two relate, then it's a bad name, and probably poorly thought out as well. For example, there's a reason in Portugal, my native people have Portuguese names. Get it?
Then again, I don't know what her background is. In my roleplays with a friend, I onve made up a fairly quick succubus, whom basically has long orange hair, blue eyes, tiny horns and a typically thin tail. I didn't write a backstory, I didn't create an entire biography about her, but in my head I decided that she was born human in Russia and somehow turned to a demon -- feel free to fill in the details if you want. Finally I just named her Tatyanna, or Tatty for short, and she preferred to still live among humans as a cook at a fancy restaurant, till she was hired by a more powerful demon to be his maid and cook for him. Sounds silly? It should. It's just who she is, and she refused to change her name to a demonic one. Besides, think you can disagree that Tatyanna is unfitting for a succubus fitting her decsription?
I like to think that *everything* is relevant to the character's name, whether it has some obscure meaning to the creator. Tatty doesn't have one for real, and doesn't need one. Making up a name with a special meaning imbued to it is usually a sign of a Mary Sue, like naming a goth character Sorrow or Raven. "Death Angel" is probably at the very top of the barrel of mediocrity, especially so if it's "translated" into total gibberish!
Tell you what, instead of thinking of her name and dwelling on it endlessly, how about thinking about her background in more depth until a fitting name, or even the perfect name comes to you naturally?

I like her design. Might have to sketch her up sometime if you don't mind.
