This is for every wound we lived through
For everyone who refused to succumb to pain
For everyone who had to deal with their own bodies betraying them
For everyone who sports the scars from noble deeds
For everyone who sacrificed their well-being for love and honor
For everyone who carries the light of hope, no matter how small it may be
For everyone who fights for what they believe in
For everyone who never gives up
For everyone who felt like their best wasn"t good enough, but kept giving anyways
For everyone who refused to go quietly into the night
For those who had their hearts ripped out but kept going
For those who shoulder the weight of the world, day in and day out
For those who withstand the unjustified torments of others
For the wounded, the broken, the beaten, the bullied, the bruised and the battered
This is for those that endure.
A little something I needed to do for myself to help get me out of this funk.

On the contrary dude.. take it as inspiration to draw more and become even better at it.
It's a kickass tiger suit if I ever saw one... AWWWW it has little ears how adorable ^^ *Cuddles the metal fluff* ^^
your sci fi style is easily my favorite. your lighting and shadowing is amazing.
Amazing and so KICK ASS XD LOVE IT!!! The detail to the armour and helmit... SUCH... Epicness O.o
You are simply an astounding artist, both visually, and verbally. Endure a war, a fearful endeavor, a dark abyss that none could comprehend. This piece is breathtaking, but the words behind it are what make it so for me.
This actually made me want to go all Warhammer 40k on the next poor slob thats crosses my path.
How foolish to pretend that they are safe, that closing a few gates would mean the end of this....to forget that I'm still here.
I can hear him saying through his helmet's intercom thing, "Come at me, bro." with a gruff, defiant voice. Low, slow, but forceful.
So I had a near mental breakdown today, and I had to talk it out for a looong while with my Dad, and at 2am after finding out that I have instrumental synesthesia, I see this. I'm not sure at all what to say, except: thank you. You made this for yourself, but it's helping me and others as well.
I'm gonna do my best so that people won't have to feel in pain and confused. I'm going to let my dreams come forth. I won't let this just be words with no action.

Caught that straight away by the pendant (and the armor of course!). Even the little background shot to show off what I'm guessing is the Manufactorum doors.
Great game.
Great game.
Awesome game. Great series. Great world. I am especially fond of the rout, or more commonly called, the space wolves and the grey knights. It's for the moments like these, those that endure live for.
Very impressive my friend!
I too have been playing space marine.
I am very happy to be bringing back my Heaven Bearers Chapter.

the detail in this is gorgeous <3 I love the way you added damage into the helmet, it gives a real neato texture to it
That cocky bastard, turn off the light, you're a walking target D8! *is so interrupting the movie*
It gave the feel if I ever going to see this for real that will be the last thing.
It's times like those that I like to say:
"I have been bruised, battered, bloodied, broken, and beaten to within an inch of my life. But I'm still fuckin' here."
"I have been bruised, battered, bloodied, broken, and beaten to within an inch of my life. But I'm still fuckin' here."
surviving a rain of bullets ant easy...but when your packed with titanium armor....it makes to job just allot easier
Tehehehehe...
Kitty ears.
Also, bullet craters! Might wanna get that visor fixed though...

Those words are deep.
I like how you have adapted Warhammer 40K (I assume) to fit the anthro world.

Judging from the story snippets attached to other pics, It's Strype's own universe (with inspirations from various sources, if I remember right)
What else can be said about something that damn good?
Inspiring.
Inspiring.
Y'know, I'm sure you've been asked this question before but I was really wondering where it is you get your inspiration for a lot of your sci-fi work. I was wondering because I'm trying to get a bit more into spaceship design and whatnot :3
I'm getting a Brother of Steel vibe. *Prepares to hand over what advance technology I have, so I don't end up full of holes.*
Amazing word, as usual.
From a personal standpoint, I completely understand your words behind it too.

Visited the webpage.. and they are sold out!! hope they get them back soon.. i'm bookmarking that page.
I'd recommend searching elsewhere, they've been sold out every time I've checked in the past 5 years or so
That's literally so inspiring, I cried.
Strype, you just absolutely murdered my state of feeling worthless there.
This almost feels a little out of place, but... Thank you. This is why every time you post new art, everyone has a better day.

That this inspired even one person to keep going has more than made this pic worth the effort.
Are your pictures ever NOT mind-blowingly epic?
Very nice! Very freakin nice!
Very nice! Very freakin nice!
Excellent light source and of course the details of the armor is top notch. Hopefully this'll help ya along with gettin' out of your funk. You do a wonderful job!~
Bringing your thoughts and emotions to life, gotta say that must be a hell of a good feeling.
"COME AT ME BRO!"Perfect display of that phrase right there on his face.

god damn Strype...you sure know how to make a piece fit with words and vice versa.
absolutely bad ass work on the details in the armor and lighting effects.
even a battle-hardened warrior like yourself needs a break.
those words there will forever ring true to me...especially the part "For everyone who felt like their best wasn't good enough, but kept giving anyways"
take care of yourself and keep up the stunning work
take a break if you need it, dont stress too much!

To be honest, I find myself constantly fighting the compulsion to quit and the little voices in the back of my mind that push to have me throw up my arms and quit. The images in my mind are never as good as what I can put to paper. I look at hundreds of other artists with envy for some of the styles I see, wishing I could emulate them, or have the same productivity of these artists who seem to be able to post a beautiful full colour image every other day.
I ain't as good as those guys......yet. And that's the key word, "yet". I just need to keep pushing with everything I got, practicing, learning, getting up the momentum, and it's actually painful to me when I go into dry spells. My mental state is practically dependent on my art.
So, I'mma keep workin myself outta this hole

hey, you're not alone, so dont beat yourself up too much man.
i look at the images i formulate in my head verses how they come out on paper and literally have had the urges to simply shred my work. im a traditional artist through and through. i envy artists like yourself who have dove into the world of digital and make pieces that are quite stunning (aside from the work you do, i envy your ability to make mech stuff...i've always wanted to do something like that).
there have been two times in my life where i gave up on art because i felt like it was never going to get any better. but each time i think its over, i find myself at it again, picking up a pencil and sketching some random piece of doodle that whether or not it turns out good is irrelevant.
you are a talented artist Strype, and you definitely hold up in the top artists (traditional or digital) here on FA. regardless if you dont see it now, or if it seems like you lack the ambition in your work, just remember you make a lot of people love art through what you have accomplished so far.
if anything, and regardless if it seems not really worth the effort, take a small break away from the art world ... even if it is a day or two...go out and enjoy a day to yourself and clear your head for a bit. i find if i sit at my desk all day sketching then take a walk, i usually find it relieves a bit of the artistic stress to allow me to come back and sit down and continue with new energy.
if anything, dont quit...definitely keep pushing forward. you're a strong lad.

Emulate their style? Why? You have your own and I dare you to show me ONE who can make pictures as deep and detailed as you do. I dare you to find ONE who can make art which simply can't be forgotten over and over again.
No, Strype - you should not look at them with envy. You are yourself, you make great things which are your own in style. And they are great. Your best is enough in my opinion. Period.

Yeah, just listen to what Raavi said.. you are awesome, your images have a huge following because many of us sometimes feel as you do, and your images help externalize that, and makes us feel better afterwards. No need to be like other artists, BE YOURSELF!! and take inspiration on the work of others to better your art.
Last week at work was so stressful and full of crap i felt like caving in my bosses' face, and this image really helped me deal with that the moment i saw and read the text, so come next Monday it will be a "Come at me, Bro" attitude, that no matter how much crap is thrown at me i will rise and keep on walking.

Completely feel for you here. I´m running into the same troubles permanently, and I also agree with your mindset. Can´t quit, improving trough work and reflection paves the way to greatness.
I liked this quite well as mere inking, but the dramatic use of color and lighting in this piece makes it even more remarkable (not that I expected less; I simply hadn't expected this per se).
You've done excellent work here. I'm glad it came together for you, and that things are starting to move forward.

Beautiful expression of a beautiful message. :) Really awesome work.
Those words are so inspiring, i think it could bring back the honored dead. a Masterpiece in it's own.
Very awesome, Strype. Makes me think of the Space Marine Loyalists lost in the Eye, yet still bringing the Emperor's fury to the traitor legions and their daemon masters.
Another amazing artwork. It looks Like A SPACEMARINE:
We never die because Fear is unknow for us. We are Spacemarines, the son of the Emperor
We never die because Fear is unknow for us. We are Spacemarines, the son of the Emperor
Whoa.. really well done.. love all the detail int eh battle damage.. I never thought of doing those little inner lines in the bullet looking damage.. the way the shine from that pendant on the metal is also great. Added the spark detail and corner shine of the containment shows its reflection on the armor. Lots of great detail. Thanks for the really Great art.
.. because of the shoulder plates, and that kind of ''oath'' you wrote in the description.
Lurv it.
Lurv it.
Dunno why but the night vision lenses look kinda herpy derpy X3
Ahhh, quite handy to have that with ya in a war.
Thank you for your sacrifices, for peace, for your country, for the world.
This is a beautiful piece of work.

Your art is actually what I think of when I re-read Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein and they mention the power armor.
That's a compliment. xD

Y'know, one of these days I might have to go pick up that book. Heard a lot of good things
I highly recommend it. It might come across as a straight-up science fiction book about killing alien bugs, but in reality its more of an essay by the author to present his views on the military, civic responsibility and morality. Its also a really good story.
I really am having a hell of a hard time describing how awesome work like this looks. Take my word, you've got me floored. *thumbs up*
wow! as always, your art are just one of the most awesome that's happened in FA ever. really great made this one!
hope you feel better soon if you feel alittle crappy (if I misjudged the message there, I'm really sorry ><)

Well done, awesome art. And never give up. Don't give the bastards that satisfaction.
The words of the poem itself ring true for the life i have lived. Went through ALL of that. Because of those experiences, I am now a person with rather unique strength and thus the title for this submission rings true for the position I occupy now.
Once again, strikingly beautiful.
Your artwork never ceases to amaze me.
Forgive me for thinking those were optical pickups for a faceplate screen... ;)

Love the poem.
All that damage & injury really does it this time.

This piece absolutely stunned me, as did the description, an excellent job well done Strype!
i love the message here, and the look is really wonderful. very realistic cracks and bullet holes, and it sends a great message. awesome work, and i hope things get better for you soon!
"What was that, Sir?"
"Something I read once. Stuck with me. You read anything, soldier?"
"Nothing that deep, Sir."
"When we get back, I'll give you a couple of books. Read them."
"uh... Yes, sir...."
*Alert klaxon* "All marines prepare for drop... All marines prepare for drop..."
"Show time in twenty! Twenty t'we drop! All troopers go dark until you are on the deck! Lights Out!"
**Fade to black.

This may be some of the best work I've looked at from you. It really stands out. Bravo.
From one warrior to another "Never falter, Always resist!" *With a proud Cheetah Stands from his open cockpit of his Custom high mobility Zaku 2. Arm and fist across his chest as salute to those who have fallen and those that continue to fight and live on. "Always remember You have allies where you least expect ^_~" He roars proud as she reenters his Zaku. With a closing of his cockpit the mono eye flash its, "Bwung!" as its fist clinches, with a blast of force and light the Mobile suit burst towards the fight. For his honor, and his glory for the republic he stands for.
"Know fear! Know that you stare down the pride of Zeon, The Lightening! RAWR!!!" His custom double barrel Machine Open open a hell of bullets, and Missiles burst from his legs.

Impressive display of battle damage. As well as lighting and viewpoint. Chalk another up for the Strype.
Love the work you do, man.
Love the work you do, man.
I wish I could produce works even half as good as yours. But alas this other cybernetic tiger can't draw very well at all. Keep producing your amazing pieces, please!
I gotta ask you Strype, what chapter are you in the 40k universe?
Another well-done piece, Strype. I was wondering, did you draw any inspiration from this piece? http://magiccards.info/scans/en/roe/215.jpg They both about the same sort of subject matter, and masterfully done pieces!
Here it is in much better resolution http://www.wizards.com/mtg/images/t....._2560x1600.jpg
Yes indeed. I only had the image, not the fluff of the card. but there was very strong inspiration from it
Makes this piece even more awesome, and it was awesome to begin with!
If I gave someone a beating like that and they still stood and challenged me... I'd take off my hat and kneel.
Amazing and beautiful piece of work man.:D I agree with the above. Both picture and message fit perfectly together. Don't ever give up and don't ever let those voices push you around. When they start talking, kick em in the nuts and yell "NOT TODAY BITCH!"
We are the ones who stand before the hordes.
We are the ones who march into the darkness with no fear.
We are the ones who will never back down.
For we are the line that must hold,
so that you might live to see the dawn.
Awesome work Strype. I know this if for more than just my kind, but I can't help feel that many soldiers like me would appreciate the picture and the words. After all, thousands before us have fought with every scrap they had for one reason or another, and many more join us every day.
Grats on yet another amazing piece of art. *salutes*
All the awesomeness in the world cannot compare to what I gee about this image and the message behind it! Thanks a lot, man. That was just what i needed to see and hear right now!
Looks great... love your style... wish I could've snatched a commission spot.
Guess your style would've fit to the "Aliens"-themed pic I had in mind...
anyway... you should draw more :)

There are no comments that can do justice to a piece that just gets better the more you look at it. The times you pull of a piece like this that has such depth to it along with the writing are just amazing.
Strype, Your art has always been nothing short of astonishing and I thank you for your contribution to the world.
I have to be honest that this piece and the words that were comprised with it really brought me up from a dark place myself, I am in our countries armed forces, Navy to be exact, I have been on a constant away from all that I love, my friends, my family, my wife... in five years I have been on five deployments, roughly eight months out of each year, i have been away from home, as we speak right now I cant even say that I am on US soil.
And when I return from these long endeavors, putting my life on the line to continue to endure the freedom of our country, i get no reward of even a "thank you for your service" from most. There are a few that do recognize the hardship, but most don't.
Thank you for your art and inspiring words, after all the operations and danger that I have been through serving on this war vessel, with the Navy SEALs, conducting counter drug operations, and having been under fire to protect my country and its people, I thank you for what you do, keeping the peace on the home front, keeping us supplied with your quality talent
So thank you for your service to us all Strype.

Damn, man, this is slick. Is that quote from a song? It kind of resembles a few tunes I've heard, but I don't recognize it, itself.
I know you're not big on responses, but I have a technical question! What kind of brush/brushes do you use for the subtle texturing on the metal surfaces of the armor? I can kind of conceptualize how you did the highlights and the eye-catching aspects, but the little details in the negative spaces have me curious.
Someday, when the Great Furry Sci-Fi Novel is written, I hope you do the cover. Your work has the same gritty unworldly beauty that artists like Stephan Martiniere capture. I love your glows
Dude, I could not have found this at a more poignant time....
I've been fighting like hell to keep all the ground I've gained this year. And I'm doing a pretty good job of it, most days.
But something happened today that rattled me pretty bad. My uncle, for reasons related to severe psychological illness, stabbed himself thirty-four times with a small kitchen knife this morning. By some miracle he's not dead; he needs a boatload of stitches but the prognosis is good I'm told. I was glad to be around to clean up my aunt's house after the police were done so she didn't have to come home from the hospital to face a bloody mess, whatever happened, as I'm not squeamish about this kind of thing generally. But all I could think the whole time was " Man.... that was almost me so many times over the years. I was so close to doing something like this, so many times." But actually being in the aftermath, I will always remember what it's like for those left behind. That alone is enough to make me stick it out whatever it takes from this point on in my life.
Whatever It Takes.
After I was done next door, I came back home looking for anything to distract me, so I started sorting through the thousands of back submissions in my inbox. I don't clean up as often as I'd like, but I'm always afraid I'll miss something good if I hit "nuke". And I saw this.
Thank you for sticking it out too, Strype. Your art is frequently inspiring to me, and it's always a pleasure to happen across a piece like this.

Huh, somehow I forgot to add this to my favorites, although it is by far one of my favorite pieces on this site. Fixed.

I'm positively floored by your attention to detail. Your mechanical/cybernetic art is nothing short of breathtaking.
Ever thought of working as a degigner
for video games? I reckon you'd make
quite a killing in that line of work.

wow. That poem impresses me just as much as the art. Truly beautiful.
Looks like you might be missing part of the strap securing the grenades.
Still getting noticed after a year shows how well known this is. Keep up the fight tiger.
Sweet jesus... so much energy that you could base an entire power metal music vid based on the story in this image.
Fantastic work :) The gaze from the eye that's showing is intense!
Your helmet looks like a smiley face...With the visor as the mouth and those two sensory orbs as the eyes...
Reminds me a bit of Gypsy Danger from Pacific Rim. http://www.pacificrim-movie.net/med.....nfo_art_02.jpg
It's so crazy how well you do armor sets and stuff in a picture.
the glance of the artificial eyes is quite frightening, i can feel the cold heavy steel, it's raw cold and hostile, lovely =)
Absolutely amazing picture. The detail work is amazing. I can only hope that someday i will be as good as you are.
I cried like a bitch when I read the description. Beautiful.
Wow, this is really cool. Like the cracked visor and dents from the bullets. I kinda want to get my 'sona in some armor, but I really don't know what it would look like. Probably something like the GF soldiers from Metroid.
YOU, sir, are an inspiration to us all! I admire this piece very much, words can't even begin to cover how you made me feel.
Please, continue sharing skills with us, just by looking at the comment proves I'm not the only grateful user here.

Been looking for this picture for a lot of time. I had seen it once and really liked it, but couldn't find it anymore. Now it is my phone wallpaper. The description is also very inspirating, thanks.
For everyone who felt like their best wasn't good enough, but kept giving anyways
That's not me... I never considered that to be honest. I have done that before but most often I give in.
Mad props man.

Wow, I really can't tell you how many levels of BadAss this is, you sir have impressed me and given me a new level to aim for.
Also this so reminds me of a Book Cover for a RPG like the RIFTS series.

This has to be one of the most awesome things I've seen in a few days at least! Also, you're icon is very flashy and nifty, love it! XD
You know... I find it strange that I happen to randomly click this image after undergoing some of the toughest shit I've faced yet... You've got some serious fire, tiger. I've probably already commented on this piece somewhere, but thanks for posting it to begin with. You're a damn good reminder. God love you for that.
I was wondering, would you be okay with people having your images printed as posters?
I love this image, and would love having it as a poster in my room. Would that be okay with you?

I suppose you could, but the hi-rez image was destroyed in a harddrive crash not too long after I made the image, so the versio nyou see here is the only version that exists
That's unfortunate. It should be fine for A4 size, but A3 might be a bit blurry.
Thanks for the permission, and quick answer, though. Love your work, you're one of my favourite artists on here, and I haven't found anyone who does scifi as well as you do.

Dude... The art is awesome, but I can't really begin to describe how inspirational and relatable I found the description. I have chills.
I know this is silly, but this reminds me of when Noble Team extracted Cortana. The indescribable sacrifice and enormous cat-and-mouse to flee, lives given freely in the name of continuing an entire species. Though not exactly worn at the neck, though.
The custodian and her courier. A moment I like to think is worthy of the best of cinema, but sadly this gem of a story is often forgotten and it would seem few experienced it.

A magnificent piece of art from a so very talented artist, I hope I wasn't too much of a nerd. The Seventh Column will return! ^---^

Woah! It’s an honor to get a reply, thank you! Your art got me into the fandom ages ago!
