Extinct species of lion that lived in North America, and one of my best pieces from 2001. Also made into a knife handle.

I can just agree with my previous speakers - it is still a wonderful image!
Beautiful piece of art...
And thank you for the info, never know there was such a species...

Over and over, I pored over this drawing back when I first discovered the fandom/Yerf, and when I started trying to draw more seriously rather than just for funsies. It makes me happy to see you reposting it and some of your other older work :)
I often wonder what things be like if they had made it into modern times; would our symbolism have changes some in America (More lion, less eagle)?
This is the first pic that I ever faved on the first anthro web site I ever belonged to. I'm no longer there and I was hoping to run across it again some day.
Largest cat ever. Bigger than African lion. May or may not have looked like this.
Fond as I am of lions, this has always been one of my favorite lion-furry portraits by anyone.
Amazingly beautiful!! Just gorgeous! I just commissioned someone to compose my lioness 'sona in a Native American dress while her wolf lover will be dressed in an African garb. I can't believe there was an actual lion (other than the mountain lion and Florida Panther) that roamed the lands of this great nation! I wish I could have seen it!! So beautiful!
Still have this one hung on my wall. I ordered a print of this form you *thinks* well before I moved to Toronto and that was in 2004. Still here! Still love it!
For a cute history lesson. You're the first person/store/artist I ever bought anything from "Over the internet!" I'd say a nice bright shiny gateway into Furry! =)
