I knew as soon as i took this picture and checked it on the camera screen that this shot would be something special :) really really happy with this one even though its a 'little' dark perhaps but i think that provides more detail overall.

interesting... looks like the one i have in my PB account from wallpapers.com years ago. Is very nice
Well i guess one river scene could look much the same as other river scenes but this is taken from the small bridge over the river leading to my friends cabin :) lovely place
I love these long exposures of running water. Taken a few myself, but unfortunately, I don't have the greenery around to support the water. Now rock and boulders I do have...unless the construction crews moved them while they were working in the area they were in. I should check on that.
Thanks Hon *snug* :) one of my fave pictures i've ever taken, and also taken without a tripod too :D
Thanks Syn :) i'm really glad you like this pic *smiles* i think its one of the best ones i've done to date :D
Mrrr :D thankies i'm glad its been well received, i'm going to try and find more rivers in my area to try different stuff
*nod nods* i agree, i used to take alot of pics in B/W but for something like this i think colour brings this picture out much better than the other version :) still its fun to experiment
This is so epic o_o. To me, the way the water has been captured in the shot almost sort of looks like there's dry ice smoke flowing over the rocks instead of water, because of how smooth it looks. And your colours always seem so vivid in your photos, I have noticed, which creates some really nice contrast in photos like this, for example.
Thanks! i used a slow shutter speed to grab this one from a bridge near a friends place in Finland *waggle* and i think, if i remember this scene i increased some of the colour saturation in camera to bring the green out a little more vividly. You see, i don't often use editing software on my photos as i find it more challenging to get it right 'in camera' if that makes sense
Oh yes absolutely and I would imagine it is a little more satisfying when you manage to capture it just right without having to edit it? I don't think you majorly overdid or or anything though, as I've seen a lot of photographers do so in the past.
Indeed it is far more satisfying to get the result using ones own technique/skill through the camera rather than editing it at a later date, don't get me wrong though i'm all for editing but only if its really needed :)
