In uploading things to FA I do glance at the profiles of furs that leave favorites and comments because I wonder what stuff they've posted or are interested in.
gigian654321 Gigian654321 had an image up of a very cool looking Chimerataur character named "Bless", with the upper torso of an anthro goat atop a winged lion half with two hipheads, draconic wings, and two anthro Naga's with four arms each for snaketails.
I liked what I was seeing, because the overall impressions I got from this hinted at some kind of biblical corruption with a name like "Bless", and the character having tapestries draped between the lions heads, and some very loose idea of something with goats and God lingered in my mind. Just kind of sucks that the art completely hides the Naga snaketails from view so the viewer has no idea what it is they looked like.
So while I was on vacation in Kentucky with my family after Midwest FurFest in two thousand twenty-four and with a lot of time to just idle and enjoy the atmosphere, I pulled out my sketchbook and just started drawing.
I poured three days of effort into this creature.
Most of the front half was easy because that was visible, but I had to leave the Naga snaketails as half finished voids until I got hold of Gigian and could discretely ask my questions of what they looked like.
Turned out his serpent of choice was a cobra.
I'd never drawn snakes before.
Well, first time for everything I suppose!
As the Naga snaketails progressed I was exceptionally pleased that I was able to work their arms around to have some grasping interaction between the both of them. And really, those hands look pretty good all considered.
Really this whole creature just pleases me to look at with how everything turned out, there's a lot going on here that I really really really like what I drew.
The creatures hands look good.
The creature is just nicely fitted centered in the paper.
The proportions are just perfect for a 'taur form.
The Naga snaketails interacting is good.
The lions heads needed a little more refining and mane fluffing but even they look decent.
Yeah, I'm just completely happy with how this turned out.
The staff held in Bless' hand is a Bishops staff that I found a picture of online. Putting something in her off-hand just felt right since they're a fire mage of sorts.
And Gigian's response to this was pure joy as well. This is the first gift art he's gotten of Bless. Hopefully he puts forth more art of her on his own profile of her various forms and abilities, as the tails can progress through various stages of fierceness; starting at snakes, progressing to dragons, and then becoming these Naga's. He's got a lot of wild ideas for many headed 'taurs.
