O_o welp looks like Saida and Brand better get their rears in gear cuz i smell an incoming imminent boss fight later in the next set of pages
They LITERALLY couldn't win against a single TOECLAW of Suzo. He can destroy them with even LESS effort than Darya would have needed
As the other comment says, he’s far too powerful to take on, and thinking about it, in the past they either got lucky (the plant guy unknowingly dooming himself) or simply managed to escape (the sea queen), so I don’t think they’ll be fighting against him
He does have a weakness. A rather glaring one, if he is like a traditional kitsune.
If you steal their hoshi no tama - their kitsune ball - they are completely in your power as long as you possess the ball. If they were to steal it, Suzocon would have no choice but to obey them. But if he ever got it back when they were in range - watch out!
But HOW would they get their hands on his ball? He'll VAPORIZE them the moment they get near it.
One plan that might work, is the good old "Summon bigger fish". Have the two approach Queen Vetra, and blame the theft of the eye on Suzo. Claim that the whole body swap was an accident, and that HE stole the eye from them. His being an obviously sinister Kitsune, AND having ownership of the eye, lends serious credence to that ploy. Suzo admitting that Roko might well hang on for a month or two, means that his rescue, though necessary, is HARDLY pressing. And without some SERIOUS firepower, they can do NOTHING!

Everyone has to sleep. Suzocon-sama is powerful but he is not yet a god, and must maintain a physical form. And there are heroes in Japanese folklore that defeated more powerful kitsune than Suzocon-sama in that manner.

That's another possibility. Sorry if it seemed like I was arguing for the sake of arguing, I enjoy a debate like this. But, seems more likely that Suzo would just toss them in the ocean asap. He's already said he despises loose ends, right?
Maybe, but “loose ends” and “wasted opportunity” aren’t mutually the same. If Suzocon doesn’t know how to operate the eye stone, then that gives Saida a bargaining chip.

Not one piece of that is in the realm of possibility. This is a rare villain who is smarter AND more powerful than anything the main characters can HOPE to overcome. Worse, he's also NOT arrogant in any way, he knows their knowledge has become a liability, and he's already given his opinion of loose ends. He already is planning to kill or imprison them.
He is well aware the smallest flaw can sink a dreadnought if allowed to exist, he won't be m aking such mistakes. That's why I keep saying this would REALLY be a great time for Vetra to track them down....

He wouldn't toss them in the ocean. He'd hit them with his uzumaki shotgun and erase them from existence. The idea is to keep him from doing that before they can rescue Roko and GTF out of there. I knew that Suzocon-sama was a monster the moment I set eyes on him, in part because that's how the story is going, and the nature of (some) kitsune. And I'm sure the other two will figure out some clever way to exploit whatever weakness kaibutsukitsune has long enough to get Roko and book a ticket off that island.
As for stealing his ball... someone that smart would put it in some super secret safe, and go to sleep with a decoy on in this sort of circumstance. Suzo strikes me as someone who does NOT underestimate potential problems...
Nobody's perfect, and Suzocon-sama is an arrogant twat of a kitsune, just like Darya and Vetra-jou. How long has it been since he faced real opposition? Not since the Puppet War, I'd guess, and that wasn't accomplished by stealing his hoshi no tama, it was by destroying his puppets and banishing him to his island by outgunning him. Like most everyone, he's fighting the last war, not the fight he's going to face.
How is he arrogant? Confident, yes, but he's been keeping a close eye on them ever since they got to his island. It wasn't by chance that "Miyu" was there to play the role of innocent girl. The fact that Suzo SHOULD have a small army of servants/lab assistants and DOESN'T is a super red light. It means he's been keeping this impressive shrine clean all on his own, which speaks to the level of control he has over his domain. And his desire for nobody to know he's there, too!
Darya certainly knows he's there, but wants nothing to do with him and can you blame her??
NEVER trust a kitsune. They literally make a LIVING to deceive and kill people.
Not all. Some actually serve the kami with honor. Suzocon looks like an Inari- aligned kitsune but like all the other kami of this world he became corrupt and evil at some point.
Researcher with without any ethical ground is way more scarier than most as that type put you through hell just get some sort progress for nothing more than progress it research.

Seems careless. One risks damaging a unique subject before it can be studied and replicated. The spirit is no longer in a vessel, meaning the reapers may interrupt and one does not know whether they can stop them, much less detect them. If time is a part of maturing as a Kitsune, accelerating perception of it to one may cause rapid maturation.
Roko isn't technically a kitsune anymore. And it's genuinely unsure if they can reach the mirror dimension.

Yeah, I called this one right from the start. Kono yao no kusokitsune was a villain right from the get-go, and he's almost certainly the Puppetmancer. They stepped into a huge pile the moment they set foot on Kaibutsukitsune's island, and now he intend to mindrape Roko into a Nobody.
And Roko-san knew all along this guy was bad news. It's up to Saida-hime and Brand-san now. And they better be ready, because they have outlived their usefulness.

They honestly had better escape, they don't have any believable means to defeat Suzo, or to rescue Roko. Like I said before, Roko kinda deserves this for all the trouble he's caused. And the only thing they are losing is their pack mule.

Roko kinda does, if you look back, he's always been in it for himself, and has only brought more and more trouble down onto their heads...
He's a bit selfish, but he's not evil. And he does care about his friends.

You need to understand how powerful and PARANOID Suzo is. He hasn't let them out of his surveillance the entire time they were on his island. He knew they were there the SECOND they set paw on it, and they've not left his sight since. Given his intelligence and paranoia, and there's no logical way that they can surprise him AT ALL. And the moment they annoy him, they're astral DUST. So, since this is well written, they're gonna have to come back later to try to free Roko, if they do at all, and this doesn't turn into Roko FINALLY making a truly fatal error.
im with hg3300, no one deserves this, if the mirror is just the trap then he can be freed from it eventually, roko has caused trouble yes but he means well and actually cares about helping his friends. like it or not many of us following this comic agree he does not deserve to be erased.
Can't agree. Roko acquitted himself well with Darya. And he tried repeatedly to warn them about Monster Fox, only to be ignored. He knew he was walking into a trap. For them to just up and run would be cowardice of the highest order and both of them don't lack for courage. Besides, IF Suzocon-sama is like a traditional kitsune, he has a glaring and exploitable weakness.

I get the feeling 'Miyo' is a long lost friend and hes trying to resurrect her. Darkstalker tried that with Clearsight. Didn't work so well
Interesting idea but this guy is so amoral I can't imagine him having a genuine friend. Not to mention he coldly told the last Miyo to enjoy her time "awake" as she started to die.
Tbf, he caused all of this. Both the start of this adventure by stealing from the quetz and getting them body swapped

I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I guess this is just one of those worlds where almost everyone's a jerk except Saida and maybe Brand
He CAN'T. Suzo has him trapped forever, or at least until he decides to let him out. Brand and Saida can't even TICKLE a being of his power. As I said before, the ONLY way this could end positively, is for Vetra herself to come down and attack him for the eye, allowing the "heroes" to escape.

Killing or enslaving someone is LESS vile than this, and i hope... that given Virmirs way of writing things... i hope our evil kitsune here gets EXACTLY what she wanted... in reverse :P

I have to agree. Even by Shinto nogitsune standards this is despicable and dishonorable in the extreme. Inari-okami would spit in his face for so thoroughly dishonoring her name.
Which machine are you referring to? The one that purifies the hearts of Pokémon, or the one that instills darkness into their hearts?

Giving the specimen an actual name sounds way to humane to fit with how Suzocon acts (instead of using numerals)
Esspecially with an Ego fitting an 8 tailed Kitsune I doubt he'd want to be reminded of every failed experiment by name

I'm going out on a mere whim, but. Maybe Miyo must have been something, "special" to him. Must have "meant" something to him.

Roko has no right to complain. By all accounts, he has no right to EXIST in his current form, don't forget.

I was actually letting my guard down about this guy because I admire his scientific approach and accomplishments, but now his true colors are showing.
A true test of Roko's plot armor: Will he be rescued, or will he be reborn as Miyo? Tune in next week!

I was not expecting Psychological Torture to end up in this story...
This is a level of scary kink mind breaking creative story twisted things. That makes me think about this for a while. the creative overflow of ideas here I would have never thought of something so perilous and scary. As kink based this comic, maybe. I do think this is the end we're getting after all hes been thrown. As someone who wrights perilous kink based stories I'm impressed with this unique ideas. To be erased in such a way and in an inordinate amount of time. The ampleness of this is Ineffable. a infinity of erasing. WOW
