Original description: Phew. Uploading all this stuff right at the end of 2023! I'm glad at least this year wasn't a year of request slavery and being unable to do literally anything else due to the insatiable
greed of the requesters, but yeah especially in late 2023 things got rocky for my DA to say the least, especially with my move to FurAffinity and Newgrounds.
At this point I'm way too dang tired to say anything about this year's picks for the best images I did, but I do wanna say that December's pic will be more or less a review of 2023 alongside a review of
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. I gotta say, it's quite an amazing game, to the point that this art summary's style is based on the menu screen of the game.
Yeah late 2023 was not the best time for me and my DeviantArt saga, as the original description tells. Well sometimes, at least, since it was The Year Of Newgrounds, as I dedicated myself to that site much more after 2022. But now that it's time to talk about the 3rd Art Summary of me, the one, the only... ZiyoStreetSoul!!!!
January: CJ and Syrup. Syrup and CJ get a game-changing redesign each, starting of 2023 with bang! CJ becomes cooler, and Syrup becomes edgier (in a good way!). Perhaps it was all that excitement for
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk that boosted me on to drawing my friends' redesigns, or maybe it was me making a statement that 2023 was gonna be my year?!
February: SOSSIJ DAY 2023. To this day I have no clue why I drew this, or why I consider February 9th to be "Sossij Day", but all signs point to AndyWilson92 being the inspiration for this truly out-of-
nowhere art. I guess it was me once again making a statement that 2023 was my year, and not the requesters'.
March: (Request) Tempo gaming in his room. Spoke too soon! Regardless of that fact that this is a jewel of a picture and is full of fun details to find! It also neatly expands upon the personality and
character of Tempo, who proudly stands out as unique due to being a character who I helped design for EcruteakYuya. Needless to say with the amount of time and effort that went into this picture, it
definitely deserves the Top Spot for the best image of March 2023!
April: Jazzy Easter! Though I had loads more images planned for Easter 2023, I just couldn't get around to finishing them. But Jazz is here to prove that I drew more than enough for Easter in 2023 and make
me feel much better! I actually used an action figure of him to get the job done!
May: Skunk Plum. Pickings for the best image of May 2023 were slim (I think!), or maybe there was a close tie between them, but I just had to choose this image of my sister Puff Plum dressing up as
Darius Halley. It actually does well with tying the Street Soul cast with the LapFox Trax / Halley Labs cast together and showing their friendship and in this case, the tendency to show each other funny
things such as Puff Plum's costume. It's even better when she can't resist the tempation and inflates herself with that costume on!
June: Apollo's expansion. Here I welcome a new character to my great big wonderful cast, Apollo! And how to I welcome her? By blowing her up like a balloon, of course!
I initially got her inspiration from chefcheiro's art over on DeviantArt, but she's pretty much her own original character with how well I designed her. The detail and design was just too good for anything else to be considered for the Number 1 Spot!
July: Ah, you trutter my tralala. This July is Jayjay July, so of course I had to choose something Jayjay-themed that I had drawn on this month! It's also the first time a Newgrounds-only image has taken
the Top Spot for a month in an Art Summary image! I actually didn't want to upload this one onto DeviantArt due to how I was paranoid of them misunderstanding it as suggestive. I sure don't trust that
there DeviantArt place. But what I do trust is Hard Man's dance moves even if Jayjay isn't too pleased about 'em!
August: Floatin' down! Redone. An amazing remake and remaster of an older image from 2022. Possibly one of the most detail-filled images of 2023 yet, in fact! It gets your attention as much as Puff
Plum's beautiful belly in this image. I had so much fun with this one that I even wholly remember the night I spent drawing this one while listening to YouTube videos!
September: Vinyl. Just because I didn't put or have something Bomb Rush Cyberfunk themed that was good enough for August didn't mean that I would go without drawing something based on that newly-released game of goodness. This one is also a Newgrounds-only image, mostly in an attempt to make some exclusivity that would make people want to see my Newgrounds artwork. It didn't exactly pay off, and I barely got any views over on Newgrounds. Serves me right for trying out an illogical and stupid business-style tactic, I guess. Vinyl looks so great in my style, that's for sure!
October: Red and Haruhito. One Bomb Rush Cyberfunk image getting the Top Spot in a single Art Summary sure wasn't enough! We have a second! My friend redharuhito really loved this image and it only made sense to draw them side by side knowing that they have the same name.
November: Ordna: 2023 reference. And a THIRD Newgrounds-only image that I did! It was about time that Ordna got a new reference sheet since his 2021 sheet was rather outdated at this point. Interestingly, I only uploaded stuff onto Newgrounds this month, since I did not trust DeviantArt around that time, and for good reason. Oh Mab, I can't wait to finish this guy's comic so bad! This year sure was The Year Of Newgrounds, after all!
December: Well, that's a surprise. For now! In fact, I did draw the image in pencil back in 2023, so I have a good head start.
And another year of excellence, and another Art Summary of excellence down! Much less requests, much more me time. 2023 was a step in the good direction! Though the year went quickly, it still gave me plenty of joy, even if there were a few downs, both online and in real life. Who knows what glory awaits me, Ziyo himself, in 2024? That very same year just so happens to be the year that Jet Set Radio Future
takes place in, so good tidings are bound to happen! To find out, you better stay listenin' to...
