I decided to try something new and design a species!! I had this concept in mind for a while. Here are some varying colour schemes that they can come in.

Tentacle pups (or tentapups) serve as guardian-like creatures and they absorb nightmares with their tentacles. You could say that a tentapup born with fewer and/or smaller tentacles have a harder time to absorb nightmares, they are usually scrawnier as well and would be considered runts.
An adult tentapup is somewhere between 150cm - 180cm tall to the withers. Some can grow larger as well. Their tentacles can grow from anywhere on the body and are very closely tied to feeling and sensation, and are often involved in mating. Tentapups are also generally intersex.
Another defining feature of the tentapup is the limp non functioning extra limb that grows behind the front legs. They are 80%-90% paralyzed and serves no function. It is not known why they developed this but we can only speculate if this is the result of something of their ancestors.
