So this is a commission from the ever talented Cervelet, commemorating an event and special meetup with an online friend thefwank SoylentOrange that I'd known for a long time and finally got the chance to meet in person after the first initial trial failed and they had to pass on it to keep their schedule for a cross-country road trip from California to the east coast somewhere.
Honestly I thought that the opportunity had slipped by and just wrote it off as another thing of the furry fandom, that no matter how much you try and meet someone of similar interest that happens to be close by it will never ever work out.
Then years later when I decided to go to MicroCenter in Tustin to pick up computer hardware, actually the same trip and hardware that I have laying around right now waiting to be used to rebuild my desktop when I finally finish uploading art here, I mentioned it to SoylentOrange and he mentioned he's near there as he was back in California for an unexpected duration. Suddenly the chance to meet up presented itself again.
We didn't do much. I got my supplies, and then we went nearby to the Marconi Automotive Museum that happened to be close looking at their small but nice collection of vehicles and other notable machines, mostly catering to Ferrari brand and famed movie cars. Of all the wheeled artifacts on display I found the vintage fire truck the most impressive because it was an antique long wheelbase truck frame with no cab and outfitted to do a purpose. All the other vehicles were built for speed or a show, but the firetruck was the only thing in there that exhibited purpose for a job.
Its after the museum where this art piece comes in because SoylentOrange wanted lunch. Now I'm simple, I would just settle for a burger and fries anywhere and leave but he mentioned if I'd ever been to a Miguels Jr. before for Mexican. No not Carls Jr, a Miguels Jr, a franchise that seems highly regional and only exists in the Anaheim and Riverside areas, so we went there right by the railroad tracks.
Its a good sign when the place is full of locals, and while eating we amusedly and quietly wondered how our various forms would contend with having to enter buildings, and on the way out this idea struck me.
The restaurant we were in had two entrances.
Of course!
If I were a Centaurpede I'd have to be highly specific judging the building from the exterior instead of for its food offering if it'd be easy to enter and snake through to leave through the other side. No reversing back out on myself!
So after our meeting and we'd gone our separate ways I brought this idea up to Cervelet who happily made it a reality, all while keeping it a surprise for SoylentOrange to find out when they made a guest appearance in their anthro Cowgirl form.
Thanks for the meetup Soy.

A delightful pic to commemorate a delightful meeting. Here's hoping we get another chance sometime. ^_^
