“Lookin’ for a fight are ye? Well, allow me to introduce ye to my cudgel of repentance!”

Here we see Berwyn the gnoll as he will look in my friend’s upcoming campaign for Dungeons and Dragons. Berwyn’s gnoll pack was killed when he was a wee cub, but a kindly cleric from the Order of St. Cuthbert took pity on him and raised him within the walls of his monastery.

The gnoll grew up, following the traditions of his new cleric pack, and when he was of age took the vows of his monastery. Yet it’s not that easy to separate the gnoll from their wild instincts. Berwyn eventually set off on his own for excitement and the thrill of a good fight. It’s also why Berwyn adopted the Trickery Domain as his holy path.

In time, the gnoll will also take the path of an Echo Knight fighter, creating a gnoll pack of one with the copies of himself he’ll be able to create. When he retires, Berwyn will return to the monastery that raised him, because they brew excellent beer.

Berwyn is a Chaotic Good character. I think it’s rather unlikely a gnoll would ever become a traditional lawful good Cleric, but he had good guardians growing up, and they got Berwyn as close to lawful good as they could.
