There's a toddler in my boots - With Story
This was a commission for I love Saffy so I always jump at the chance to draw her, but actually the real reason for drawing her today was actually a story commission. So here it is...
Saffy clung to her Mom as she was carried upstairs to bed. She had spent the day in much the same way she had spent the previous one and the one before that. It had been 2 months now since her initial regression and she had since, fallen into a routine of diaper changes, playtime and naps. She didn't like it one bit but she was helpless to improve her situation. She rested her head on her mom's shoulder as they reached the upstairs landing and sighed. It had become apparent that her Mom actually had the power to return her to her 25 year old self, but was not willing to give up her new, much more manageable toddler, rather than the bratty daughter Saffy had been previously. Saffy had learnt her lesson, she really had, but her Mom seemed impervious to Saffy's pleas to be returned to normal.
Saffy's Mom noticed the way her baby hung limply as she was carried into her bedroom which now resembled much more of a young child's nursery rather than the dank Goth pit Saffy had been living in before the regression. Although to help placate Saffy, she had been allowed slightly Gothic wall paper, although it was much more pink than Saffy would have liked.
She lowered Saffy down onto her paws. Saffy just looked at the floor, missing her previous life, where she would stay up late chatting to her friends via MSN and listening to Hardcore music on her MP3 player. She missed going out drinking and wondered whether her boyfriend had found someone new, someone his own age.
Saffy looked up at her Mom, her eyes glistening with unspent tears.
“Mom?” She sniffled. “Do you fink mebbe...yoo could change me bak soon?” Saffy hated the fact that her voice these days sounded so childlike, so adorable as her Mom would say.
Her Mom chuckled slightly
“oooh Saffy, sweetie. Don't you like being my little cub any more?”
Saffy shook her head.
“Mom. I miss my fwends. I miss being indee...indeepen.....bein' able to do fings for myself” Saffy struggled trying to think of the word 'independent', she knew what she wanted to say but some words these days escaped her.
Saffy's Mom tried to keep her face straight as her daughter struggled to get her point across. Saffy was unbearably cute as a toddler and Saffy's Mom really found her daughters new age and size much more manageable than how she had previously been.
Saffy just stood there feeling miserable. Saffy's Mom knelt down and stroked Saffy's hair.
“Your hair is so much nicer now though don't you think? Its much tidier and easier to control. If you grew up again it would go back to the way it was”
Saffy tugged at one of her bunches as her Mom spoke. She guessed her Mom was right about her hair, perhaps because her Mom gave her a bath every day and used that no tangle, no tears, baby shampoo, her hair was in better condition than it had been in years.
“well...yeah I guess I could keep my hair like dis.” She muttered as she twirled some loose strands around her paw, recognising that it was much softer and well brushed.
Saffy's Mom crossed over to the cupboard in the corner of the nursery. She opened it and dragged out a cardboard box full of Saffy's old things. She held out a text book on mathematics and handed it to Saffy.
“Didn't you HATE mathematics. Look at how boring it is. Aren't you glad you don't have to worry about that any more? “
The book was heavy in the toddlers hands and she pulled the book open to look at the jumble of words and numbers on the page. Saffy couldn't read any of what it said but she flicked through the pages looking for pictures of which there were hardly any. Saffy's Mom watched her daughter.
“ Look at this book instead”
Saffy looked up from the text book to see her Mom holding out her favourite bedtime story. Saffy instantly dropped the textbook which thumped loudly on the floor as her little paws reached out for her favourite picture book. She took it and held it triumphantly and began to paw through the pages of the book she had been read several times since her regression. It was about a little lost monkey who eventually finds his Mommy Suddenly she snapped out of her childish glee and looked down at the textbook. She blushed at how easily she had just disregarded her previous life and her head snapped up to look at her Mom who was smiling down serenely waiting for Saffy to make the choice. Saffy felt confusion.
“...It's...troo. I didn’t like mafs” She felt no shame in admitting that, she had indeed detested mathematics. But that was no reason to stay as a dumb baby.
She put the picture book down as her Mom rummaged around in the box again and pulled out Saffy's MP3 player. Even though Saffy had only been a toddler for a few months she had almost forgotten what her beloved MP3 played had even looked like. Seeing it bought back many memories of being up in her room doing her own thing. Not like now where she was constantly watched and chaperoned. Her Mom pressed the play button and some random punk band began playing. Saffy's younger ears were much more sensitive than her adult ones and the music sounded more like random uncoordinated noise than she remembered. She covered her ears in alarm. Scrunching her eyes up tight. Saffy's Mom switched the music off seeing her daughter getting distressed.
“Oh sweetie, I didn't realise it had been up that loud. Here. Let Mommy make it better.”
She plucked Saffy up, who still had her paws over her ears, and gave her a hug, then carried her daughter over to the bright primary coloured cassette player sat happily on the nursery shelf. Pressing the chunky play button, a sweet and soothing lullaby floated around the nursery.
“See. That's much better isn't it sweetie?”
Saffy carefully removed her paws and after a brief moment to listen to the lilting music Saffy quietly nodded. It was quite a pretty little lullaby and it made Saffy feel happier. Her Mom carried her back over to the cardboard box and was about to lower her daughter back to the floor when she noticed Saffy's diaper was wet.
“And what about your new underwear huh Saffy. You look positively adorable tottering around in diapers. You make Mommy feel really lucky to have such a little cutie for a daughter.
Saffy blushed and buried her head into her mom's shoulder. Her response was muffled by her mom's fur.
“I....dun...need em!” She whined feeling embarrassed by being made to wear them. Saffy's Mom just chuckled knowing that denial in requiring them was her daughters usual response but had yet to remain dry for a single day since her regression.
“But sweetie, if you didn't need them then the one you're wearing wouldn't be soggy now would it?”
Her Mom spoke in as reassuring a way as possible as she felt her daughters grip tighten around her neck. She patted Saffy's soggy bum and rocked her baby for a little bit. Saffy secretly had to admit to herself that not having to go potty was occasionally convenient, and there was something safe and secure about wearing them, but she had no intention of admitting that to her Mom
“OOOH Saffy look!” Saffy's Mom had been looking in the box as she held her baby girl and plopping Saffy back onto her paws as her Mom pulled out two massive Goth boots.
“Do you remember wearing these? You lived and breathed in these boots, I swear you would have slept in them had I let you” Saffy's Mom chuckled.
Saffy looked at the boots. The were huge. Had her feet really been that big? She glared at them. She could still wear them. They couldn't be that much difference.
Saffy's Mom stood and folded her arms as she watched her daughter trying to pull the boots on. Saffy was stubborn and when she set her mind to it there was no deterring her, either she would succeed or she would fail.
Saffy had managed to clamber into the boots and she wavered unsteadily. She was still wearing her own shoes, but her feet were so small now that it didn't matter. There was tonnes of room in her old boots. She tried to take a step but the boots were far too heavy for her new paws to lift. She stood there stuck on the spot trying hard not to topple over. Her Mom pulled a compact camera out of her back pocket and quickly took a snapshot unable to resist the cuteness of the scene. This picture was going in the family album. She might even get copies to send to the relatives.
She noticed the shoelaces were untied.
“Saffy don't go walking around in those without the laces tied. Its dangerous sweetie”
Saffy looked down at the laces and struggled to bend down to reach them. After a minute of not being able to bend her knees she clambered out of the boots and then pick up the laces. She then looked at both ends. The knowledge on how to tie laces was missing from her memory. She stared blankly for a moment and then randomly started trying to make it up. She didn’t want her Mom thinking she was a dumb baby after all.
Five minutes of unsuccessful attempts and Saffy was almost in tears again. Saffy's Mom had watched her child getting more and more flustered and decided now was the right time to step in and help without injuring Saffy's pride too much.
“Here. Let Mommy show you how its done okay.” Saffy's Mom knelt down in front of Saffy and took the laces in her paws. She smiled and started to make up a little story as she went through the motions of tying Saffy's boot laces.
“Once there was a rabbit that was very sad because his ears were so long and narrow that he stepped on them all the time. One day a fairy landed on the bunny's head. She lifted up the bunny's ears and crossed them over like an x. Then she put one ear through the bottom of the x and pulled.
Next, she made each long ear into a loop and made another x like before. She put an ear under that x and pulled again. From then on the bunny remembered how to tie his ears into a bow, and he lived happily every after. “
Saffy watched her Mommy tying up her laces She watched the ease at which the laces were tied and she listened to the little story as each step was shown to her. It made sense and she took the second set of laces and tried to copy what she had just seen. She came close to replicating the tied laces but failed at the last part and her hard work unravelled. She dropped the laces. Admitting defeat.
“Your Mary Jane shoes are so much easier aren't they sweetie?” her Mom spoke softly. Saffy had folded her arms and was glaring at the laces as she nodded vigorously. Stupid laces, what was the point of them anyhow. Velcro and the shiny buckles on her toddler shoes were much more practical. All laces were rubbish.
Her Mom gently pushed Saffy backwards and she landed on her thickly padded behind.
“Look at how simple your new shoes are.” She spoke as she effortlessly tugged off one of Saffy's Mary Janes
“Just the right size for little cubs. To protect their ikkle feetseys” Saffy's Mom smiled as she began to tickle Saffy's exposed paw. Instantly Saffy was in rapturous giggles, trying to scramble away from her mommy’s tickle attack.
“Tickle tickle tickle. The tickle monster has found you” Saffy's Mom laughed as Saffy's tried to get away. Soon Saffy had been drained of any energy, she lay there helplessly panting for breath the tickling taking away any fight she had left. Her Mom plucked her up off the nursery carpet and held her regressed daughter close. Saffy lay there limply, but not in the same fed up fashion she had done earlier. Now it was a relaxed content floppiness. She rested her head on her mommy’s shoulder breathing in that safe motherly smell that her Mommy had. It was a good smell. She yawned.
“I think someone’s a tiredy girl” Saffy's Mom looked up at the clock to see it was past 7pm. “It's way past someone's bedtime.”
Saffy's Mom carried her over to the baby changing table and placed the cub gently onto the mat. Saffy didn’t struggle she lay there looking up at her Mommy as her sodden diaper was careful stripped from her, she was cleaned up and dusted with talc and a fluffy thick night time diaper was put back in its place. She blushed slightly mentally acknowledging that being in a fresh clean diaper was much nicer and comfier than the wet one she had been wearing moments before. She squirmed on her back, allowing a shy little smile to escape that she hid by sticking her thumb in her mouth.
Her Mom smiled down on her as she dressed Saffy in a pale blue fleecy footed sleeper complete with poppers in the crotch for easy night time changes which Saffy always needed. She carried her daughter over to the baby crib and tucked her in. She stroked Saffy's hair.
“Saffy. You know I love you. And I will always be here for you no matter what. You make me proud every single day”
Saffy felt a lump build up in her throat. As an adult her and her Mom had grown so far apart they had practically been strangers, barely spending any time together, not even eating together. Saffy had spent most of her teenage and adult life hanging out with friends or being up in her room on the net all night. She looked up at her Mommy seeing her differently now. S he relied on her Mommy to provide everything for her, to look after her, to keep her safe. It was a different life to the one she was used to, but it wasn't terrible. She actually enjoyed her mommy's company, she found it difficult to admit but perhaps she did like being a toddler again.
She yawned again and continued to suck her thumb her eyes getting heavy as her Mommy gently stroked Saffy's forehead humming quietly along with the lullaby that was still placing softly in the background.
Saffy felt herself drifting blissfully off to sleep as her Mommy quietly stepped away from the crib and made her way to the nursery door.
Saffy suddenly realised she'd forgotten something. Her eyes snapped open and she pulled her thumb from her mouth.
“MOMMY?” She called out as her Mom reached for the nursery light switch. Her Mom looked back at her daughter peering through the crib bars.
“Yes Saffy?”
“Nini Mommy.....I Luv yoo”
Saffy's mom's heart fluttered in her chest, how many years had it been since she had last heard those words? When she spoke, it was very quietly, for the lump in her throat made it difficult for her to breath.
“I love you too sweetie. Sleep well”
With that she turned the nursery light off, the night light automatically came on and softly Saffy's Mom pulled the door half closed as Saffy snuggled down for a content nights sleep.
Saffy clung to her Mom as she was carried upstairs to bed. She had spent the day in much the same way she had spent the previous one and the one before that. It had been 2 months now since her initial regression and she had since, fallen into a routine of diaper changes, playtime and naps. That is just too cute. And a great story to complete it. Good job. ^-^
so adorable i don't blame her mom for keeping her a toddler after this story im sure she'll get use to her toddler life she might even want it back when she has to face school again
My daddy has boots like that only thicker, and sometimes when he goes to work for the BBC he wears them and pins his security pass to them so when security asks to see his ID he has to boot them in the face. They expect it from my daddy though. Hes strange.
That's so sweet and cute. I think the picture is one heck of a bonus for a story commission! xD
gosh, your stories are always so well written! You definitely impress me very much. :3
adoraBLE PICTURE AND OMG THE STORY I CREID ITS SO SWEET sorry i hit caps lock and im to lazy to retype lol
lil saffy is undeniably cute.
but i actuall feel sorry for saffy having her freedoms snatched away from her like that
i dunno about you but i would NOT be happy being regressed standard responses would ilude hissing, spitting scratching ans lots of crying (fursonas a cat). especially sincey ou lose alot of your physical facaulties like dexterity. (esecially ive youve spent alot of time training up your fine motor skills for various skills like swordplay)
dont mean to drag things down but a situation like this does sometimes bring p questions of freedom
if i may say so, i thoughti like being a submissive sort of person, now i think otherwise, as life progresses and you taste more of what the world has to offer, you want to experience more how you want to. and to lose the ability to forge my own path would be devestating.
thats just m of course.
again though compliments on the art

That is a very heart touching part of Saffy's regression stories. An alternate name for this story could be "The Taming of the Saffy". Wish you were with Saffy, Gem, then you could make her happy in no time. I praise Saffy for trying to do her laces. Exactly what is her favourite picture book entitled and what does it feature that would appeal to Saffy? Every time Saffy goes to sleep, I imagine she has vivid dreams of being an adult not too different from Gem's dreams in Found.
By the way here's a video on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p00IvI3Uyb8 which has a likeness to the story Saffy's mother told her when she tried to tie the laces. Quite a cute story and just the kind Mom would read to Saffy at bedtime.
