Starting my journey of character redesigns with these two 2012-vintage canines who I haven't drawn in ages! They're two of my very first full-on "furry" characters. See their evolution here: (link)
Let's reintroduce them! Ursula is a tribal fox who became a dimension-hopping adventurer after being abducted by aliens (long story). She actually hated her former life, particularly how she was forced to cut her hair short and wear a chestcloth and loincloth despite her fur covering her just fine. She embraced her freedom by growing her hair as long as she liked, and going nude as often as she liked. A while back I decided she'd eventually start wearing tribalwear again when she was out and about, just so people would stop complaining, but at least it's a "cool" set, in black.
Suki is a biologist grey wolf. She co-developed an experimental serum meant to protect the user from the effects of cold, but when her Antarctic research centre was attacked she had to use it to escape; it worked, but it had the side effect of bleaching her fur and skin.
I like how they both turned out. It was nice to revisit them, even if they barely changed aside from my artstyle evolving!
