Spyro goes down to an enemy ambush of Gnorcs!
Spyro flew into Stone Hill ready to find any dragons and gems he needed. With Sparx in tow, he was feeling confident he could do it. After all, many of the dragons he’d already saved had said it themselves: it was up to him. So who was he to argue with that? He found a few gems no problem, but he saw that there were three paths to take. He started to ponder which path to take but then he noticed something: there seemed to be a surprising amount of fat green gnorcs carrying big bags over their shoulders. He was a little surprised to see quite a few gem thieves in this area.
“There isn’t supposed to be this many in here… or any, for that matter,” Spyro said to his dragonfly companion, who could only buzz his agreement on how strange this was. Some of the gem thieves noticed the dragon, however, and started chasing after him. “Uh… well,” Spyro stammered, uncharacteristically unsure if he’ll be okay. However, he then gritted his teeth. “I can do this!” The purple dragon proceeded to charge towards the approaching gnorcs. He plowed through the first three just fine but a fourth one managed to swing his bag and smack Spyro right in the face, sending him flying a bit. He quickly got up but then noticed that Sparx’s colour had changed.
“Oof… lucky shot. But I can still… uh oh…” Four of them managed to surround him and started getting closer. Spyro thought quickly and spewed out some flames, defeating one and allowing him to charge away from that group. He quickly turned around but failed to realize that there was another gnorc right behind him. Said gnorc managed to land a hard punch to his side, causing Spyro to wince and then flame him right afterwards. Spyro started to pant a little, taking the time to rush to the hall to the left from where he entered.
“Not good, not good at all!” Spyro shouted when he took the chance to catch his breath. “This isn’t going well. What should I do?” He could hear the horde of gnorcs following him so he tried to run further down the hall. However, he stopped when he realized that it was a dead end, dragon to save or not. “Oh no!” Spyro shouted, nervously looking at Sparx, who was now coloured green showing that things were not looking great. “There were so many gnorcs there. I can’t glide over all of them… But everyone’s counting on me… I can do this! I’ll find a way!”
After saying that Spyro growled and started prepping a new charge. “I can do this. The elder dragons are counting on me… I can do this!” Spyro then started charging towards the horde of approaching gnorcs, managing to plow through a few of them. However, one of them managed to swing his sac and smack Spyro square on the head, forcing Sparx to flee and causing Spyro to fall flat on his back. Before he could react three of the gnorcs surrounded him and started pummeling him.
“Oof… ungh!” Spyro kept shouting as he kept taking punches to his stomach with the occasional one to his head. The gnorcs kept going until the purple dragon lost consciousness. They took a step back to admire their work. Spyro was panting but otherwise unresponsive to the world. One of the gnorcs grabbed the dragon and draped him over his shoulder, the gnorcs chuckling to themselves as they intended to hand the dragon to their boss for a reward.
