Body type: Caedes has a lithe, elegant figure with lean and subtle muscles. Her limbs are notably longer than those of most other dragonesses.

Forked Tongue: Even in dragon form, Caedes retains her forked tongue, and it keeps its function in enhancing her sense of smell. While her serpentine heat pits are no longer visible, they still function within her nose to detect the heat signatures of any creatures around her.

Venomous Fangs: Caedes's fangs contain a neurotoxic venom which she uses to weaken and/or kill prey, or to ward off any attackers. The venom generally induces muscle weakness, sluggishness, blurred vision, vertigo, drowsiness, etc. While the venom is quite potent on most animals, it is considered non-lethal to dragons and serpents, as even a full dosage won't be able to kill either, though it can still disorient and weaken them enough for Caedes to escape if need be.

Shadow-melding: When covered in shadows, Caedes can meld into the darkness and reappear elsewhere nearby. Not all of Caedes needs to pass through these shadows, as she can temporarily have only part of herself pass through.

Enhanced Shapeshifting: While many dragons have a limited shapeshifting ability, often only allowing themselves to take on a more humanoid form, serpents go far beyond the limitations that dragons have. Sanguis can take on a varying amount of forms depending on his wishes and needs, even able to imitate dragon form almost perfectly. If the mood strikes, he can even shift to make himself appear and function as though he were of the opposite sex, as demonstrated here. Aside from some functional limitations, Caedes is virtually indistinguishable from a typical dragoness.


Caedes Venatrix is a fanged serpent, a species similar to the crested serpents which Luna belongs to, and is Carmen's canonical mate and one of Solis's closest friends. She is the alternate female version of Sanguis and comes around whenever the mood fits. As Caedes, she is usually much more calm and soft-spoken than Sanguis is, though still possesses some of Sanguis's mischievousness and eagerness. She's a massive nerd and is almost always caught reading in her off-time, has a great passion for fantasy and is an avid roleplayer. But even as Caedes, she still enjoys playing the villain role and brings surprising authenticity to her performance, though she is often more receptive to being on the receiving end of such treatment herself.

I did mention Sanguis was genderfluid, right? Well, you know now! So, here's his female alternative, Caedes Venatrix! And I'll have to say, she pulls off this look rather well and looks incredibly pretty. Hopefully I can show her off about as much as I can show Sanguis.
