Here I used Hero Forge to create an anthropomorphic version of the legendary horse Incitatus, wearing a purple robe, the color of the Roman emperors. Just a muscular, proud white horse in a purple robe.
Incitatus ( meaning "swift" or "at full gallop") was the favourite horse of Roman Emperor Caligula.
According to legend, Caligula planned to make the horse a consul, although ancient sources are clear that this did not occur.
It is said that Caligula simply thought that his horse would make a better consul because he was disappointed by the incompetence of his consuls.
The story that Caligula wanted to give his favorite horse a high office probably arose because people wanted to cement Caligula's reputation as a madman.
Supposedly, Incitatus had 18 servants for himself, he lived in a marble stable, walked in a harness decorated with rare and special stones/jewels, and dressed in purple (the colour of royalty) and ate from an ivory manger.
In "The Trials of Apollo" by Rick Riordan, the sequel to "Heroes of Olympus" also by Rick Riordan, the horse Incitatus appears as an antagonistic character.
Incitatus is capable of human speech and is proud, arrogant and ruthless in character, which he probably inherited from Caligula. In the series, Incitatus strives to establish a government of horses for horses, which Caligula knows and has no problem with.
"Kid’s not stupid. Once he gets what he wants, well ... then we part ways. I intend to overthrow the human race and institute a government by the horses, for the horses." - Incitatus to Apollo ("The Burning Maze" by Rick Riordan)
