What's VHS-C? I've heard of those HD VHS tapes in Japan known as D-VHS though
VHS-C is a compact video format developed in the middle 1980s based on the successful VHS format. Using the same tape as a regular size VHS cassette, VHS-C is playable on any Home VCR in the VHS format with an adapter cartridge. This allowed camcorders to become even smaller, after having recently been joined into one unit instead of requiring a separate battery-powered Video Tape Recorder and Video Camera. The C in VHS-C stands for "Compact".
