a digital drawing of a tortoiseshell cat, looking at the viewer, holding a grey toy mouse in their mouth. the cat has a blue collar with two tags on it - a rabies vaccination tag, and a bright yellow-orange tag that says "SHRAPNEL". the background is a dull yellow with halftone dots and squares in yellows and blues, and the piece is bordered with a blue frame.

So so cute! The stylized lettering you used for the collar tag is eye-catching and immediately gratifying to look at. It feels incredibly rare to see Tortie Cats drawn in such an ambitious pose, you've definitely pulled off the look. I super love that name for a kitty.
Your details and coloring added depth to the feline facial features- notably the most beloved and dangerous spots to pet-- the cheeks, eyebrow poofs, and the chin.
The whiskers are a lovely play on color, balancing the left half and the right half.
There's a contrast between the playful and wonder filled eyes of Shrapnel, and the Catnip mouse.
All of this framed with a really brilliant border made *even more charming to look at* because of it's painted appearing line distortion. Who doesn't love a dot matrix, by the way? The colors here work together in a surprising way.
I'm a big fan of the "pixel bleed blowout" look on the 'catty-corners' of the cat.
Half way through the year-- art block won't stop your talent from shining through when you find the time to work on your craft!
