That shopkeeper was always so adorable, glad to see someone else thought so too.
Has Peach become unable to come out of the shadow of the shop keeper's wife, while merged with it, after her physical body was taken away by Doopliss?
Nah, I never do bad end stuff, so my idea is that this ends in one of two ways:
1. Once the shop keeper is in a dark enough room and is no longer casting a shadow, Peach is able to free herself.
Or
2. Doopliss comes back, finds/frees Peach and swaps back with her after getting tired of Bowser trying to kidnap him every other day.

If Peach leaves the shopkeeper's shadow, does the shopkeeper revert to how she used to be?
I like to think that Peach is basically stretching her shadow out, so once Peach leaves, the shadow/shopkeeper will shrink back to normal over time (probably a few weeks). That said, it may result in some "stretch marks" that don't go away at all, like some extra curves that she didn't originally have, even at her smaller size.
Love the idea! A sentient shadow, being forced to mimic the movements of its owner. Very clever ^^
I would for the idea for Peach to slowly infect the Shopkeepers Wife with bits of her personality. Trying to pull away before she unintentionally overwrites an innocent person.
