The New Dragonlord ( TF Story)
Commission I ordered from MidnightArcade of my Elden Ring character, Theo, achieving his lifelong dream and becoming an Ancient Dragon similar to Placiudax. I realy hope FromSoftware adds Dragon Forms in the DLC. I've also attached a story about the Transformation if you'd like to read it.
Theo gently placed the stone head of Queen Marika the Eternal upon her fractured body.
It snuggly fit back onto the shattered neck and slotted into place. Her body was a dull white color as cracks and snaps left her little more than a bust with some legs and half of a face. Within her chest, her insides were completely gone and instead filled with empty black stones. Her face was half gone, with naught but an empty eye socket, part of a nose, some scraps of golden hair, and a closed mouth. Yet despite her current state, Theo could feel a tinge of divine energy radiating off of her.
As he stepped back, tiny specks of golden light began to dance around her body. The empty grey interior of the Erdtree was soon illuminated by a multitude of specks fleeing her gaping body. Theo was dazzled as the specks converged within her chest and formed a recognizable shape. Four golden circles stacked on each other, staked with a massive spike through the center with upside down arches branching off of it. The holy artifact of the Golden Order and the source of power for The Lands Between. The Elden Ring.
At least, what was left of it after The Shattering. The ring glowed with a faint golden light, but it was broken and hardly holding itself together. Theo slowly creeped towards the ring within Marika’s body and reached out to touch it. He gently brushed his gloved fingers against the golden glow and could feel the faint warmth radiating from it. It gently pulsed in his presence, and gave no reaction as he gently grasped the ring and tugged on it. It gave way and was pulled out of Marika’s body with ease, taking a flurry of golden specks with it. Theo held the ring out in front of him as Marika’s body seemed to dissolve before him, leaving behind nothing but a faint cloud of grey dust which blew away into the depths of the Erdtree.
As Theo gently grasped the Elden Ring, he felt a familiar power light up within his bosom. He looked around and saw the anvil upon which the Elden Ring had been planted when he had first arrived, which was cracked and radiated a faint golden aura. He slowly walked over, the footsteps of his black boots echoing off the vast chamber, and set the ring down on the altar, where it floated in place above the cold stone.
Once it was in place, Theo pulled back the red and gold scarf on his head and gently removed his knight’s helmet, which was decorated with a perching dragon. He set the helmet on the ground and looked back at the Elden Ring, which seemed to almost be watching him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he gently pressed his hand against his chainmail covered chest. From within his body, a golden light emerged as he produced seven brilliant fragments of the Elden Ring, the Great Runes, which gently hovered before him.
First, he grabbed a large faded gold Rune that belonged to Godrick the Grafted, which he brought close to the shattered Elden Ring. The Rune joined up with the broken pieces and held them together as the anchor, causing the Elden Ring to glow a bit brighter. He then grabbed a golden glowing Rune with a single line through the right side, which belonged to the egg cradled by Queen Rennala of the Full Moon. It was brought back to the Elden Ring and fused with its surface, creating a more brilliant glow. As it joined together, the walls of the Erdtree began to slowly turn from grey to a dull yellow as energy began to flow once more.
Theo then pulled out a brilliant burning Rune with a line through the left, which had belonged to General Radahn and was tinged with Scarlet Rot. As he placed it upon the Elden Ring, the rot burned away and the ring continued to glow brighter still as a cool breeze drifted up from the depths of the Erdtree. Next was a scaly curved rune marked with a line through the left, which had belonged to Praetor Rykard. It united with the ring once more and a dull whining noise emanated from the ring as specks of light drifted up from its surface. A bloody red rune was next with a line through the center of its two separated halves, which had belonged to Mohg, the Lord of Blood. When it was joined with the ring, the whining grew louder as the dull yellow of the Erdtree began to shine into a brilliant gold. The Elden Ring was almost complete.
Theo pulled out a rot blighted Rune that smelled faintly of flowers and pollen, which had belonged to Malenia, the Blade of Miquella and Goddess of Rot. The line through the right side joined up with the ring and the rot was dissipated, leaving only a brilliant golden glow behind as the ring shined brighter. The breeze and sound grew louder and more powerful and Theo could feel an intense heat radiating off of the ring’s surface. All that remained was one last Rune.
In his hands was the Great Rune of Morgott, the Grace Given. It was a brilliant golden circle with a line straight through the center that was the heart of the Ring. Once it was joined up, the Ring would be whole and the Erdtree would be restored to its former power, giving The Lands Between a second chance. Before it could be added, one last thing was needed. Theo set it aside and focused within his chest once more. A dark and cold power emanated from his hands as he looked down to see a tall Rune with a half circle sigil. It shined black and red and felt cold to the touch. The Rune of Death, once removed from the Elden Ring, was ready to be returned. Theo brought the Rune to the ring and slotted it into the top. The black and red energy flowed over the ring before dissipating, causing the Elden Ring to glow brighter as the Erdtree pulsed from the energy. Now, the dead could finally rest.
Theo reached back to grab Morgott’s Rune to finish the Ring when he noticed it seemed different than before. When he had first gotten it after felling the Omen King, it had shined a brilliant gold and pulsed with divine energy. Now, it shined an orange gold color and seemed to have sparks running along its surface. The divine energy felt ancient and wild, much different to the refined and controlled power it had shown before.
That power. I’ve felt it once before. Theo remembered his exploration of Faram Azula, a city lost to time and storms, where he had encountered a terrifying foe. The ancient lord of the Lands Between, Dragonlord Placiudax, in his sanctuary beyond time. His power and brilliance had dazzled Theo as much as it had terrified him. A true dragon who had been reduced to a shell of himself. Even still, Theo could feel that same power emanating from the Great Rune now. As if his Dragon Communion had allowed the Rune to connect with the power of dragons. Theo held the Rune close and slowly brought it over to the Elden Ring. He held it up and, with a deep breath, joined the Ring together with the Rune.
As it sparked and repaired the cracks along its surface, the Elden Ring soon turned from its brilliant gold into a golden blood color. The Erdtree lit up from the union and the walls turned the same color as the breeze from below turned into a strong gust. Dust and rubble from below seemed to rise up as the Elden Ring began to float. The specks of light that had flown from its surface turned to sparks of red lightning, which began to unnerve Theo. He recognized the power as the lightning of the ancient dragons, a power he had learned to wield in his travels, and began to grow even more nervous. Instinctively, he reached for his sword and drew it from his sheath as he felt a wave of energy blast out of the Ring. Whatever his body had done to Morgott’s Rune, it was affecting the Elden Ring as well.
However, as Theo got in a fighting stance, he felt a burning sensation along his limbs. His sword felt heavy, so he planted it into the stony floor as he grabbed his forehead, which had erupted in a blast of pain. It was perhaps the worst pain he had felt since arriving in the Lands Between. His legs felt wobbly as he fell to his knees and tried to soothe the pain on his temples. However, that’s when he became aware of a light cracking noise. Within his mouth, he tasted a salty and familiar taste. He opened his mouth and spat out some blood on the stone floor, which reflected the golden light flying around him. Floating within the puddle of blood were several pearly white chunks, which alarmed Theo when he realised they were his teeth. He opened his mouth once more and put his index finger inside, where he was surprised to feel… fangs!?
Theo felt the burning sensation intensify as he could feel his teeth sharpen and push out of his gums, causing him to spit out more blood. He could feel a dull pain on his temples as the cracking noise grew louder all across his body. His armour, normally snug against his small frame, began to grow tight as he could feel his body begin to grow in size. Theo felt the pain sharpen on his forehead as two nubs on his skin ruptured, producing two large grey horns covered in stony scales that continued to grow. From the tears, the same scales began to grow over his face as he closed his eyes. He now knew what was happening. The fate of all who partook in Dragon Communion. Their eventual metamorphosis into a mere Wyrm as a result of the dragon’s blood, which must have been accelerated by the Elden Ring’s power.
Theo was disappointed and scared that after all of his hard work and pain he endured, this was how he was to be rewarded. Reduced to a crawling sad beast. Yet as the scales grew over his mouth and began to cover his neck and chest, he opened his eyes and realised the scales felt different to the Wyrms. It was rock solid, tough as a boulder, and was a brighter shade. As he observed it, he felt his hair grow out further, his dark brown locks reaching down the back of his neck and taking on a light grey shade while a scraggly beard of it sprouted from his chin. No, this was not the body of a Magma Wyrm. This was something far greater. Far more ancient.
The pain within his mouth exploded as he heard several cracks. His jaw began to stretch forward into a snout while his nose began to grow a large grey horn, which he could see grow into place as his snout grew. He took several deep breaths and let out a strained groan as his snout grew in while he felt his tongue lengthen and brush against his new fangs. Theo saw his snout grow to full length and it was indeed the same grey scales he was starting to recognize. Several small light grey spikes grew from his lower jaw while his eyebrows shrank away, being replaced by rigid and stony brows instead.
Theo tried to stand up from his knees when he felt his body shift outwards once more. The sudden jolt made his armour squeeze him harder, causing him to fall down and support his body with his arms. He winced from the pain and looked down to see his black gloves beginning to bulge out more. His fingers grew thicker and he could see and feel claws beginning to replace his fingernails. His fingers lengthened more and more and soon his gloves couldn’t contain it. With several rips, his large thick fingers tore through the gloves, revealing the same grey scales and white grey claws. Theo held up one of the hands and could see light grey padding forming on the underside of his fingers, which bulged out and continued to slowly tear their way down the gloves.
New muscles and growth spread along his arms, causing his chainmail sleeves to bulge out and constrain his growing arms. His arms lengthened, putting further strain on his gloves and sleeves as his shoulders grew in height and width. The red cloak under his scarf began to rise up as his chest grew, revealing more of his scale mail breastplate. The aged and rusty scales rose up and began to stretch as his stomach grew and his chest gained more definition. Small pinging noises filled the air as his chainmail started to snap from the pressure, causing the small broken fragments to land against the stony floor. All around Theo, red lightning began to emulate from the floor as rocks cracked and broke away, slowly floating up into the maelstrom that was forming within the Erdtree.
Theo made another attempt to get up and managed to get up on one leg, but his legs began to gain more muscle as he stood up, causing him to lose his balance once more stumble. Then, his lower back began to ache as he felt something pushing against the scale mail skirt he wore right over his black pants. Theo looked back while trying to remain upright and saw the seat of his pants bulging out. He reached down his now large fingers to feel it and heard several rips as the fabric began to give way, revealing a large grey and gold object. Before he could react, the taste of freedom embolden the new limb as it tore through his pants with ease and slinked out through the bottom of his skirt, revealing a large stony tail that was nearly a meter in length. The shock caught him off guard and made him stumble once more before he fell onto his back with a loud thump.
He looked up from the floor to see his legs lengthen before his eyes, putting more strain on his pants. His new tail swished around above him from between his legs as it continued to lengthen and grow thicker while ridges grew along the top of it. His body was molten hot by this point as his chainmail continued to pop and snap while his legs felt like they were being squeezed by his pants. His boots started to strain as he could feel his toes pressing against the ends of it. The leather started to warp from the strain and made a dull creaking noise as Theo brought them in close. He reached out to grab one of the boots with his massive claws, which finally won the battle and tore off the palm of his gloves. His hands continued to grow and his forearm began pressing against his bronze and gold bracers while he grabbed his foot to sooth the pain. He could feel the flesh on his hand and within his boot bubbling and bulging out as the leather continued to hold it back, but it was a losing battle. From the tips of his boots, four massive grey toes tore through the leather, each tipped with light grey claws just like the hands. The same happened to his right boot as he felt his toes wiggling in the hot air forming around him. They creaked and groaned along with the rest of his body as they continued to lengthen, tearing an even bigger hole in his boots.
Theo felt his pants beginning to rip at the calves as muscle upon muscle was added to his body. The stone scales began to poke through the many tears and rips that slowly formed. All around Theo, the storm began to intensify as more electricity arced around and the ground continued to crack and break. The intense red and gold glow began to agitate Theo. His fear and disappointment was replaced with raw, ancient anger. The overwhelming power was beginning to excite him, but his body had to endure a bit more pain before he could use it. As he brought his legs out under him to stand up once more, he could feel the ground getting further away as he got taller. His scale mail skirt and shirt began to separate, leaving the undershirt of black cloth the only thing covering his body. The belts around his skirt began to snap from the pressure, giving him some relief as his waist grew larger and his thighs pressed harder against his pants. He could feel his arms pressing harder and harder against the chainmail as his biceps grew more and more, causing even more of its metal links to snap off.
His boots tried their hardest to remain intact, but eventually they gave out as his ankles ripped out of the back and tore the top open, causing the soles to fall to the floor and leave him barefoot. He hunched over as a new pain erupted across his back, pushing against his shirt and scale mail. Two large ridges formed as he clenched his hands into fists gritted his teeth. The ridges grew out further and further, eventually ripping through his shirt and hitting the scale mail directly. Then, with many loud metallic pings, his scale mail broke open and freed his new pair of wings, which were held together with the same grey scales and decorated with brilliant golden membranes. They dazzled Theo as they reflected the sparks of light around him, but that is when he felt a deep surge of power welling up within him.
His body began to crackle with the same lightning and he could feel the power welling up in every inch of his skin. Theo groaned a bit more from the buildup of pain as his body fought against his will and armour. However, Theo decided he had enough and he began to growl. Then, with a final push through the agony using his sheer fury and strength, Theo let out a massive roar, which echoed off of the walls of the Erdtree and made his body explode in energy. His body rapidly grew to nearly double his height as his gauntlet on his right arm broke off and his chainmail ripped up to nearly his shoulders. His black cloth shirt tore to shreds, leaving a large opening in his midsection that showed his shiny golden stomach packed with muscles. His legs tore through the calves of his pants and his feet slammed into the floor as they grew larger, leaving him with only ragged shorts underneath his skirt. He spread his wings and arms as the energy arced off of him and the transformation was complete.
The storm around him had transformed into a maelstrom of unstable energy, which orbited the Elden Ring and began arcing off of the Stone Platform. Theo caught his breath as his wings closed around him to deflect the sparks, but the platform began to quake and shatter beneath his feet, causing him to freeze. Then, with a final blast of energy, a massive bolt struck the platform and fractured it, causing it to collapse into the depths of the Erdtree. Theo felt himself beginning to fall as the ground beneath him gave way. Stones and wind swirled around him as he felt darkness gather around him, but he was not going to give up. Not when he had just gotten this newfound power. He began to focus on his body and felt the wings along his back. They were strong and he willed them to move, causing them to make gentle flapping motions as he fell deeper into the Erdtree. He began flapping them harder and harder, feeling his body slow down. He looked up to see some rubble falling towards him, so he panicked and instinctively dodged, causing his wings to carry him out of the way. Theo started to get the hang of it as he dodged more of the falling rubble and began his ascent out of the pit. The gold and red glow returned as he climbed higher and higher. He felt the wind brush past his snout as he narrowed his eyes and focused, ascending faster and faster as the stone platform crumbled around him. He saw the Elden Ring once more, its energy now calmed as it sparked with the same red and gold energy as before. Theo flew past the enigmatic artifact and up towards the top of the Erdtree. He could see the roof of the trunk approaching, which would soon block his ascent. However, Theo felt a warmth light up in his chest and throat as he took a deep breath and opened his mouth, firing forth a massive beam of burning hot golden energy. It struck the roof of the Erdtree, blasting open a massive gaping hole on its cragged surface that a stream of pale light poured through. Theo charged up towards it and brought his wings close as he flew through the gap and out into the Erdtree’s canopy. He let his wings spread once more and flew higher and higher until he was above the great tree’s canopy.
It was quiet as Theo gently flapped in place above the massive golden tree, which shined with a red tinted glow now. The clouds spread out before him and the large pale moon shined down from above. A cool breeze flew by and Theo took a moment to let his anger and pain fall away. His body finally finished changing, and he let out a sigh of relief as he began his descent. He flew down past the canopy of the Erdtree and over the ruined streets of Leyndell, still buried in the ash. He flew down further past the high stone walls and over the empty steppes of the Altus Plateau. Past the stone golems watching over the Grand Lift of Dectus and the massive lake of Liurnia. He flew further on over the golden walls of Stormveil Castle and the grassy plains of Limgrave until he soon arrived at Agheel Lake, named for the very first dragon he felled on his journey.
Theo grew closer to the shore and slowed his flapping as he stepped out with his legs and landed on the soft dirt below him. The lake was empty, save for a few crabs and land squirts. The water was still and the air was cool, with the only sound being the occasional shuffling of animals or the chirping of insects. Theo walked up to the edge of the lake and sat down cross legged before gazing down at his reflection. His golden slitted eyes shined in the darkness and he ran his hand through his light grey hair and down his stony grey neck. It was both smooth and jagged, while the golden scales along his stomach were incredibly smooth and soft. His hands and feet were massive, and his claws were deathly sharp while his palms and soles were much softer. He was easily twice as big as he had been, towering over 2 metres tall with a long tail and massive wings. His outfit was still somewhat intact, with his scale mail shirt and chainmail mostly intact, his scarf and red cloak snuggly around his neck, and his scale mail shirt over his black pants remaining. His gloves and boots were completely gone, save for a few scraps clinging to his wrists and ankles.
Theo soon realised that he was missing his sword, and remembered it still being on the Stone Platform when it collapsed. He would have to search for it later, and given his current form, he figured he wouldn’t struggle with protecting himself in the meantime. However, he felt a familiar object pressing into his waist and reached down to the remains of his belt, where he pulled up a gold and stone talisman with a grey cord attached to it. A Gravel Stone Seal, used by the Dragon Cult within the Golden Order to cast Draconic Incantations. He had used it to help him channel the power of dragons throughout his journey, and now here he was, a dragon himself. He had always dreamed of holding the power of the ancient beasts. Now, his destiny and wish had been fulfilled, a living memory of the dragon’s power and might upon the throne of Elden Lord.
Theo let out a contented sigh as he leaned back on the soft grass and took in the cool Limgrave air, letting the weight of his journey finally fall away from his shoulders.
