The tar was thick, sticky...and so, so deep. She weakly yelled for help, but she already knew there was no one around.

"Help... Anybody, please...!"

Just a plaintive cry, that echoed in the desert... and the tar bubbled softly in response. She took a last breath, her head squishing in.

"Helrmgmrururbmphb..."

She struggled one hand up, waving in the air, one last futile cry for help... or was she simply waving goodbye? It didn't matter, no one was there to watch. She didn't even feel that upset, as the gooey tar closed in over her head, and pulled her arm back under.

"Gllrurgb... mrurbbur bloop..."

Her air gurgled out softly, the cheetah letting her air out gradually. It was like slipping into a very snug and soft bed, resting up after her run.

"Glub bloop blpburburbu..."

One final flurry of popping bubbles, and then...
All that was left was a tarry mess in the sands. Once again, the desert became quiet, eagerly awaiting for another victim to walk down the same path as Akemi.
