Scene from Willa/Miss Billishire/Lord Tad sex/comedy/drama thing...At one point in the story someone attempts to kill Willa by tossing her down one of the castle's wells. She manages to slow her fall via bucket rope and hitting the sides - fortunately there was enough water...There was also a metal ladder on the side of the well - and she finds a couple secret passages....
Original pencil was on a 2x3 inch yellow postit note - we used them back when this was done in animation storyboards to rough out sequences early on, so we can remove panels, change order, etc...
i wanted to post a Willa pic to go with the previous Miss Billishire pic as my official return to posting...but i couldn't decide which of three old pics to finish-up a bit ... so i've been working on all three...this one got done first. i'd posted the ink version of this back in May 2011, so it's been awhile. i think i did most of this colouring back in 2020 and i wanted to keep the colouring sort of "poster-like" flatish style like the old Willa "First Glance pic.
After getting this mostly done i decided her head was too small - so that was a cut-and -paste edit but with a zillion little things to fix to make the new version work. And there is also a darker version i'll post soon ...etc

Your ink versions are always outstanding. They look as if they could belong as the illustrations in a book.
While i was in the Animation biz i had a side-career in magazine illustration as that tradition of art was one of my first loves. A few of those illustrations have been back in print the last few years in books. So i'm officially a book illustrator now ! Wooo. Strange to see those old magazine illos back in print - stuff from the '80s and '90s ... Back when i drew this i hadn't time away from the anim biz to do any illo jobs for at least six years - what free time i could get i reserved for personal art.
Why would anyone throw a perfectly good Skunkette down a well? I can think of better uses for her...
Story have Bad Guys.
Bad Guys do Bad Things.
Good Guys make Survive.
Audience Catharsis.
... i have a quota of tropes to fill each year.

oh god i love this shading X.X! i need to study your coloring more to get effects like this XD.
The over all lighting of the pic was done with a Hard Light layer - all the original colours were quite light - then this big flood fill of grayish blue-purple pushed it all back into shadow - then airbrushing in some hi-lites on the same Hard Light layer - part of a mini-tutorial i posted a zillion yrs ago :
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/5668697/
... and then real painting on a Normal layer all the countless fixes.
But Hard Light layers are a quick way to set up the basic lighting of a pic. Lay in flats, then add the lighting.
...and then fix everything that doesn't look quite right. again.

OOO! thank you for that! oddly ive never used hard light unless im trying to do highlight effects with brushes, not with layers. ill have to experiment more now. YAY! crash course in lighting effects! XD
i'd forgotten that i'd done a 2nd Hard Light mini-tutorial :

i don't use HL technique very often...there can be problems on tan fur when purplish shadows transition to warm yellowish light - some weird greenish areas - still, it's a quick way tp plan out the lighting for a pic. When i use it nowdays i tend to to turn the opacity of the HL layer down so that it's more of a subtle effect.
