Sorry, that's just how I am. You'll have to get a tactical board game for me!
Chess pieces are nice avenues for object TF that have a lot of freedom for what to do with the column in the middle of the piece. A partial body shape fits nicely in there, instead of a smooth, tapered column. :}
I used to love looking at antique chess sets that did more with the pieces to be fair, so it's nice to have a mix!
