Recently command and conquer collection came to steam and was on sale of all things on top of that. Soon as I saw that and knew I wouldn't have to go through EA's origin or whatever they're calling it now, I was so happy! Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 and its expansion Yuri's revenge was a good chunk of my childhood. As its the cnc game I played the most. Though the rest of the cnc series is also amazing and deserves recognition as well. (Renegade, Firestorm, Tiberium Sun, etc)

Wait... it does NOT require Origin??
On one paw, I have basically all the games on disc (even my original C&C Tiberian Dawn gold edition)... So having them on Steam might be worthwhile.
On the other... I would give money to EA, which I still haven't forgiven their mediocre practices, as well as killing Westwood...

Its officially on Steam, and none of that its on steam but not really bs that various games by EA and others like to do. Its FULLY on steam and no other DRMs required outside of Steam's. Which is AMAZING! But I definitely understand your point. If you already have the games on disc and are still playable, then probably just keep them. Otherwise, if you want a digital version of them on a platform that isn't complete shit. Steam's collection can do wonders. RIP Westwood Studios
Randomly thought of this piece while playing earlier so decided to go look for it again. Still such a great game. I never really got into tibsun because I thought it was a bit clunky but RA2 was absolutely my jam, especially with YR - YOUR FEELING OF HELPLESSNESS IS YOUR BEST FRIEND, SAVAGE - still one of the games I put on for a couple rounds against the AI every so often.
Absolutely! The Red Alert 2 and its expansion Yuri's Revenge were what I played most growing up as a kid. It's just a classic and so many voicelines and songs have been stuck in my head ever since. ^_^
