What good is a hoard if you can't show it off to those who would appreciate such things?
As soon as Kīlauea met Hvölga, she was convinced that this curious orca had a keen eye for wealth and status! She would be a perfect witness to the piles of treasure she has accumulated in her years of attacking ships that had trespassed in her territory.
Kīlauea led Hvölga to her lair: A massive metallic cargo ship that had sunk who knows how long ago, and now rests on the seafloor. She made her way into one of the passageways through its metallic hull that she had cut herself using her acidic dragon's breath, and through many more corridors and acid-burned holes until they arrived at her treasure chamber!
Hvölga did seem quite impressed by Kīlauea's wealth! She may have been trying to be extra polite so she could get on Kīlauea's good side, but Kīlauea did not mind. If she wanted to shower her with praise and adoration, she earned her good side. An orca like this would make for a great friend. After all, she was one of the few creatures she had met that wasted little time in complimenting her beautiful gold chain earrings and other adornments! That's how Kīlauea knows someone has good taste!
Kīlauea was keeping the threat in the back of her mind of Hvölga trying to steal some treasure for herself, but she seemed quite respectful and showed no intent of tampering with it. Besides, Kīlauea was quite confident that she could defend her treasure if necessary, especially with the help of her Dhelmise mate. This orca seemed to have Electric-Type powers judging by her equipment, on top of the Water-Type powers she surely innately had. But this only meant that her and her mate would be able to take her attacks with little issue, so she felt no threat from the whale despite her admittedly intimidating size.
Perhaps she could invite Hvölga back over in the future every time her hoard grew. Few sea creatures other than her mate had such an enthusiastic appreciation of her treasures.
Kīlauea the Dragalge belongs to... Me!!!
That's right! Kīlauea is a new OC of mine, and my first Pokémon OC!
She will join the ranks of my other Minor OCs that won't be getting a proper ref or frequent art, but is one that I'm proud to have and greatly enjoy the design of!
Kīlauea is very draconic in nature, a true sea dragon! Proud, hoards treasure, defends her territory, has a lair, solitary except for her mate, confident in her abilities, and all that other fun dragon stuff! Additionally, she is very invested in her appearence. Her Dhelmise mate helped her fashion those long, golden chain "earrings" she wears, as well as plate the edges of her fins with gold! She believes she looks truly stunning, and those who meet her better recognize that if they want any chance at being her friend!
I am also glad that I can now express just how much I appreciate Dragalge as a Pokémon. I love everything about it, yet it gets practically no spotlight from ANY of the games it has existed in, and as such I believe many people have never had the chance to discover just how great and unique this Pokémon is. So with this new character, I hope to increase Dragalge's visibility and show off just how cool and unique of a pokemon it is!!
I look forward to using Kīlauea in any pokemon-related content I am involved with in the future!!
Kīlauea's debut appearence was masterfully created by flippin-rad as a patreon reward!!
